Auburn boards

I’m still in the camp that as a head coach Kiffin isn’t scary at all. As an OC is a different story.
Will the K outlive the G name on these boards. I would rather people talk about Gruden. at least that was an interesting topic of conversation. There's nothing about the K dude that anyone can really point to as a past positive accomplishment.

32 mil... holy smokes, not their brightest moment. I dont care who your head coach is, 32 mil is ludicrous.

So many people on that board saying their dogs and grandmothers can coach better than Gus. It’s a funny world. I would bet plenty of money they can only go down from where they are.

Gus was in the unique position of being able to leverage the Arkansas opening. AU probably looked at the hiring landscape and figured there were no good alternatives. Butch's contract is probably one of the las we will see with a mitigation clause. Nowadays there is no offset for most head coaches.

Wow, this part of the drama I did not know....

Gus Malzahn holds all the cards and a $32 million buyout, half of which is owed to him in the first 30 days following termination.

Yup, which is why it doesn't matter if he loses every game left this season, he isn't going anywhere. I think Lindsey is gone, which sucks because its really Gus calling a lot of stuff and Lindsey gonna get thrown under the bus.

THAT is upside down! We thought the Butch buy out was dumb. Honestly though, they need to get some new staff, that's too good a team for the way they have looked.

Should Gus be fired by Auburn, he should owe Arkansas 40% for getting him that ludicrous contract.

But anyway..

Gus has not had the support of the fans since 2013. You can say all you want how unfair that is, Auburn fans have always seen Gus as a loser with a Butch Jones offense that gets enough lucky breaks not to get fired. I think they are right to an extent.

But all the Gus hate is just the product of the Alabama gold standard. If you get top 10 classes and aren't a contender every year, we don't want you.

Some one said that AU is opening as a 3-pt fave in Oxford? I find that mildly incredible, considering its in Oxford. Ole Miss has no defense I know, but their WRs are world-class and their offense can definitely put up pinball-machine numbers. With AUs horrible secondary, I would think Ole Miss would be favored.

They have air raided a couple high school teams, and have gotten completely shutdown against LSU and Bama.

And yes, Auburn's defense is on that same level assuming they show up to play.

Don't know how much it'd move the line, but their best WR (D.J. Metcalf) hurt his neck last game and is out for the year.

If he ever gets over himself, he could be a legendary offensive-minded HC. He's shackled by his own vanity and hubris at the moment, but maybe his time at FAU will temper him. He'll end up back at a P5 school in the relatively near future.

While not a world-beater, I wouldnt call Texas Tech a HS team. Looking at the non-cupcake part of the schedule, Ole Miss was spanked by 1) the team that's spanking everyone on earth, so no shame there, and 2) the team that just humiliated the previously 2d-ranked team in the country.

And no matter how dominant AUs front four feels on any particular day, their secondary is consistently weak.
