2018 Midterm Election Thread

The cost of my plan remains the same whether my oldest drops off or not. I told her to ask her future employer if there is any benefit to her for remaining on my plan.

As McDad said, nice to have choices. However most insurance companies or employer plans will not allow an adult kid or wife for that matter to stay on a plan if they have an employer provided plan available to them.

Sure it can. It always has been and always will be.
That's the way it works. Government provides more services, taxes go up, government provides more services taxes go up....... Government goes bankrupt, government fails, society crashes and burns. Socialist swoop in socialism fails, communism takes the place of voluntary socialism.

By no means does popular automatically mean good. Sometimes yes but many times no.

I don't have a problem with the preexisting condition clause but absolutely oppose the provision allowing adults to stay on their parents plan. I oppose that mainly because it doesn't simply allow it, you can't kick them off unless they agree or have access to their own plan.
Agree with you here. Thankfully mine already knows when she graduates from Auburn this Spring and gets hired on somewhere (nursing) she coming off my plan.................and crazy enough she wants to because she wants to take responsibility.

Would she like to work in Southern mid Tn?

Lol, I think her plan is to try and get with UAB because she wants to pursue a Nurse Practitioner career.
Thats the way to go. I sincerely expect PAs and LPNs are the future of routine medical care. And...for the most part they are better at it than the MDs.
Good on your daughter.

How do you pronounce this bold word? It seems familiar to me but I haven’t seen it in years...

I agree with your first staement.
Undecided on your second. It seems the net effect is more people are insured. And personally, it may be beneficial to my own children.
Are you saying that appeals to popular opinion or social contract aren't a valid form of arguing right/wrong?

My daughter is same. Luther's too from the way he talks. Wise kids are a profound blessing to a father.
100% true. My wife and I often look at each other, shrug our shoulders, and ask "how did we get so lucky?"
