Auburn boards

Vandy chat boards are equally fun! They are in full meltdown mode and beginning to get scAred now because they know that big brother is waking up from his long nap and about to stick baby brothers head back in the “Commode”
where it belongs
Good. When vandie commode-doors are miserable it's gratifying. Yes, I was pulling for the lizards today. Regardless, SO proud of the Vols today!

Anyone else watch Jared Stidham post game presser??

Really impressed with how he handled the crap that is coming his way. Media is trying to throw him under the bus...and his team mates under the bus and he responded with class and respect. I would have lost my cool if I was in his position. Plenty of respect for him and hope he is able to turn things around.

it is. I Remember in’87 getting in the elevator @ the Hyatt and soneone had written “go Vols, beat the Commodewhores” on some sort of flyer that was taped up in the elevator 😂
That’s pretty good! When they played FLA today I was only sorry they both couldn’t record a loss.

They did hire Pearl, don’t put it past them.

Yes they did. And the FBI is still investigating the adidas cash payments to players, handlers and coaches. Pearl was already on thin ice with the NCAA, and one of his assistants has already been arrested and fired in connection with that investigation. So auburn isn’t out of the woods on that yet. And you think they want to compound that with hiring Kiffin? A guy who has shown nothing as a head coach in leagues that actually field teams with a pulse? Let them hire Kiffin and see what happens when the pressure is on. Maybe if they do hire him Saban will stick around a few more years just to beat the arrogant prick a few more times.

They are talking about making a run for dabo. Found that humorous

The ones that cracked me up were the posters who kept talking about finding a coach that "fit their code" and how they always win the "right way"

The irony of it all after the $cam fiasco.

A few of the posters did point out the multiple probations Auburn has been on though.

How in the world does a University get themselves indebted to the tune of $32M to buy out a coach? Universities have lost their minds with the coaching sweepstakes mentality

Ever hear the phrase on here, "just back that truck full of money up" and pay him whatever it takes to get him here. (Referring to Gruden or anybody they thought could work miracles)? The pressure to win and win quickly clouds the judgement. Sad isn't it?

In a tailspin with a QB everyone hates and a lame duck coach they can't afford to fire. They'll win maybe 5 games this season. Gus has totally lost the locker room

DUDE... your part of the problem of the with college football. That guy coached his team to beat both Bama and UGA last year. How the hell can you call him a lame duck? If they fire him he will get another top job tomorrow. Come on man you are better than this.

Not even close. Ain't the same ****ing ball park. It ain't the same league. It ain't even the same ****ing sport. Pearl didnt ditch us for another job a week before signing day. Pearl was loyal and proud to be in orange. Kiffin is the reason we got Dooley and then Jones. Kiffin left us in such a chaotic state that nobody wanted to step in and deal with it. Pearl had a barbeque. A bbq. And he lied. And cried. And got caught up in some bullsh**. Ill never understand how anyone could ever consider letting Kiffin coach here again like some wanted. Auburn can have him if they want, but I wouldn't. Hell naw

Totally agree. The barners should be proud to have him as their QB. Everyone likes to blame when things don't go as planned and start swinging axes, but the air is thin at the top and not everyone can handle it. Look at Georgia. Things just don't always turn out the way we think they should.

I don't want to restart old pointless discussions , but honestly, Kiffin was just a USC guy at that time. His vision of following in Pete Carroll's footsteps overpowered his judgement and he jumped at it. He was young for a head coach ; probably too young , and did what he thought he needed to do . I doubt it leveled our team to the extent that it did our fanbase. Yeh they were a bit stunned and left wandering , but adapting to change is the nature of sports . Sending the dude death threats and burning sh** over a coach that got canned from his previous job kind of shows our idiocy. It was our university's job to find a suitable replacement and for whatever reasons, they failed. Fast forward nearly 10 years later , Kiffin has shown his knowledge and skill as a coordinator and seems to have his team in good shape. So it's safe to say , while he still has a knack for social media silliness, he has matured for the most part and would be a good coach at any level withing the CFB ranks . The point of this long ramble is , people need to get over the butthurt Kiffin left. I'm glad we ended up where we are compared to where we could have gone, but I'd still take Kiffin in a hearbeat over most of the coaches we were considering.

Counter Point: F%$k Kiffin.

But for all his bluster I don't believe Kiffin would take the Auburn job and risk being Saban's divisional whipping boy if the delusional fan base calling for him got their way.

I will agree that death threats are ridiculous. Yeah he split on us at the worst possible moment recruiting wise. And guess what he failed at his dream job. Good. Screw him and may California split off and sink into the ocean. Now he learned his lesson and needs another stepping stone to get where he's goin. Not here. He had his chance and stabbed us in the back. I hope he loses every game on his schedule

That's chump change compared to Jimbo Fisher's contract. He has 10 years at $7.5 million guaranteed.

You must not be aware what's going on inside the program. It's a mirror image to the last days of Butch Jones.

It has nothing to do with me being " better than this"' whatever the heck that means. The fans, media and the team have turned on Gus. The qb's family and fiance are on Twitter calling Gus the dumbest coach in America. The D is sick of the O putting them on the field the whole game. And Gus is in the early stages of a 49 million dollar contract. He has an astonishing clause that states that 1/2 his buyout is due to him in 30 days. This is for a coach that's 26-18 in the conference and 1-4 in bowl games. This is for a coach that keeps recruiting drop back passers for a spread offense.

Yes, he beat UGA and Bama last year. He also lost 4 games. He's lost four or more games for 5 straight years (as soon as he loses one more).

I'm thinking the Auburn AD is what's wrong with football, but maybe I just don't realize how much power my Volnation posts have.

I'm being serious about pulling for Florida. Thats inexcusable uunless it somehow benefits the Vols directly. And in case you didn't think about it (those that were pulling g for them yesterday or against LSU last week etc) after Georgia lost yesterday, Florida is in a very good position to win the East.

Smdh. I can fathom pulling for Florida against Vanderbilt. I mean, ever. Lord help us all the day we need Florida to beat Vandy to benefit us.
