I think the Saints proved, quite convincingly, that he's utilized well in multiple ways, especially when he's teamed with a bigger back.

All this dreaming about the 2016 season, and people forget the state of our defensive injuries at the end of the year. We had no shot at achieving anything after mid season, even if great coaching was in place.

Of course S&C was probably a massive contributor and that falls on Butch, but we were decimated on defense

Agree on the state of the D with injuries and the S&C - to go with a severe lack of team discipline. When the talented D players saw Jumper, Abernathy and such getting most of the snaps, they lost their desire to contribute or even care what happened. The players know who can really play and who cannot. The players who succeeded, did so individually with minimal help from coaching, but it did help the team in the process. Which is to Jacket's point of underachieving even when winning 8 regular season games. With the 2016 season approaching we saw several individually great players leave for the NFL. That left a smaller number of uninjured, individually hard working, talented players to be good enough to carry the team. By that point Butch had lost the rest of the roster or had nothing but newbies to work with to go with virtually no S&C. So we saw the tanking and worst season in UT history.

CJP is trying to resurrect the careers of guys that gave up with Butch or were young/underdeveloped as described above to go with the few best available that may have given their all for TN in the past. Really, really hard to do until he gets enough of his guys on the roster.

I'm all for AK being "the guy" but I'd also like his career to be long and fruitful too. If he's running between the tackles 20-25 times per game, he'll have a shorter career. I'd like to see him get the same amount of touches while splitting out wide while another back takes splits the load at RB.

Kamara is the prototypical new RB model in the NFL--half RB, half receiver, all badass.

Anybody think LSU gets Georgia today?

Awful lot of voodoo for UGA to overcome. LSU will be pissed after Florida, UGA has been solid but not overly impressive.. It's definitely not a foregone conclusion that UGA gets the W today.

Line is Georgia -7... If I were a betting man I'd leave that tf alone, but my gut says take LSU.

I think I would rather have our rival fans on here talking smack than to read some of our so called fans' posts reminding us of how bad we suck and how bad Auburn is going to run us. They may well do it, but if I want to see how bad it is supposed to be, I'll go get on reddit or go to their board. You all are not spitting truth. You're just bringing the rest of us down because you all want to show how stupid the rest of us are for actually wanting to win. It sounds like you're auditioning for the First Quarter on the worst sports talk station in the state so that you can get on there with Heather, Tyler, and Jimmy and talk about how bad we suck. Give me a frankin' break.

Farming, trading, shipping, packaging, retail, marketing, yes. Lots and lots of jobs sitting there on the table.
The lab I work for is ramping up and buying new equipment for canabis product testing for release as it is no doubt coming. We are hopeful it will bring in a lot of additional revenue for us.

I think there's a couple degrees to this:

I was pretty well a 'sunshine pumper' in August and up until the second half of WVU. I thought we had 7, maybe 8 wins on the table if we shocked WVU in week 1. If we beat WVU, we beat Florida, because obviously that's how logic works. That was my bias and excitement talking. Once I saw how far we have to go, I got into 'realist' mode.

There are four types of fans in my estimation:

1) We have a puncher's chance in every game (except maybe Bama). College football is unpredictable. Crazy things happen.

Pretty optimistic, but that's the brand of fan that stays in their seat at Neyland and elsewhere until the clock hits 0:00, win or lose, tried and true, supporting our team and university. I have a lot of respect for that.

2) Those more realistic fans that attempt to temper their expectations, but still know anything can happen.

Respectable takes like we've got a lot of areas to improve, Auburn has their problems but not as many as we do. It's still a dogfight, a 60-minute slobberknocker, if we play the game right.

3) Fans that have given up hope for the week.

It's like stubbing your toe-- sometimes you have to laugh at it (even if it's a forced laughter) to get through it. These guys can be kinda funny, but they can be a little too much at times. Sometimes, the well-placed joke can go far. There's value in this.

4) "Fans" that have given up hope indefinitely.

Misery loves company. These people suck.

Well I don't think anyone asked you what you'd rather have. How are a lot of these things you speak of not spitting truth, if they're true?

Okay, pushing past our obvious weaknesses, we have GOT to change up the play calling/predictability today if want to have any prayer of making this close. I see the big picture in this rebuild and am numb and okay with it at this point, but the bland, predictable play calling is the only thing that continues to piss me off because this is in the hands of the coaches, not the players. Helton, earn your paycheck today... we have absolutely NOTHING to lose at this point.

Niedermeyer also offered 2021 DT Tim Keenan, who already holds offers from Bama, South Carolina and others and went to Hewitt Trussville
to see 2020 Alabama commits Malachi Moore and Dazzlin Worsham and Clay Chalkville DT
DJ Dale.

Tennessee also offered Pinson Valley 2021 ATH Gaquincy McKinstry, who Alabama, Georgia and others.

Terry Fair and Tracy Rocket also visited numerous schools Friday, seeing Tank Bigsby and Tate Johnson as well as former 2020 Vols commit Kristian Story.

Fair also checked in on Tennessee commit Aaron Beasley and 2020 DE Andy Boykin from Troup County.

Rocker visited commit LeDarrius Cox and 5-star DT McKinnley Jackson.

My thoughts exactly. It's the pessimist's way of refusing to believe anything good can happen so they don't get disappointed. I get that. But as an optimistic person that choses to believe that something good CAN happen and loves college football because there's always an upset somewhere, I would rather hear the opposing fans down us.
