In my opinion no. Put Morris at LT slide Smith to LG, Kennedy at C, Carvin at RG, and Wright at RT. Should be a massive improvement assuming the two freshmen live up to the hype.

12 out of our first 13 first downs against Florida were run plays. Wow.

Yea, that’s what I was frustrated with. Additionally, the run plays were predictable. Have to mix it up. Try wildcat, misdirection, use jet sweep motion, rollouts, whatever. Also have to get guys like Chandler in space, which they did against UGA.

Defenses are too fast these days just to run the same off tackle, counters, and sweeps. I saw more misdirection in one Cowboys’ series Sunday night than I have seen all year with us.

You really have trouble with comprehension. I have said that expecting much out of an offense that can't execute the simplest plays in football is stupid. You guys think the coaches can just wave a magic whiteboard wand and..POOF...great results will just magically happen..

My point is nothing will work till these guys start executing correctly, and stop blowing multiple assignments on every play. That is not magic, it is just pure mental and physical effort that will fix it.

Literally nobody thinks this offense will have great results no matter what lmao, what we’re asking is stop playing to our weaknesses and calling the same damn plays.

When people ask for better play calling you mock them by bringing up a magical spell, sheep.

Eff the FF ! JG does suck, tough and better this year, but doesn't have "IT", imo. Dobbs is a Top 7 UT QB of all time and while everybody has a bad game, Dobbs won mad games with never better than an average OL (usually less than average). Yes, we will kick Auburn's a$$ physically and by a field goal Saturday and I love everybody and fun

Everybody here has very tempered expectations with this offensive unit. Many (myself included) just think that playcalling has exacerbated weakness at times.


Nobody expects this offense to turn into the 2012 or 2016 offenses any time soon. Hell, I’ll be happy with the progress if they can just get to the point where they’re getting a 2-3 first downs most possessions, giving the defense a bit of a rest, and helping our STs win the hidden yardage and field position battle. That and maybe a couple chunk yardage plays a game are probably the upside of this unit.

But leading up to the UGA game we’d been overly predictable on first down and with some personnel choices (with the exception of the Pope fumble, every time Byrd had entered on offense was a run play prior to UGA). UGA showed some progress in mixing things up. It’s still clear we’ll just be overmatched the next couple weeks though. Nobody in the RF is expecting us to march up and down the field on auburn even if Helton calls a perfect game.

I have my doubts a QB coach calling plays would be that dead set on running ball stubbornly like that. My guess there's too many cooks in the kitchen

We may be vanilla right now on offense, but I believe it will pay off in the long run. Yes, we all want to see some wrinkles to help mask our definciences, but it’s gotta be hard for the coaches when they can’t get the OL to execute back to back off tackles. These players will get the fundamentals down at some point and it will be worth it.

Conversely, y’all ‘member when Sunseri tried to throw the entire playbook on the defense day 1 and they never once, throughout the entire year, got it together? Defense looked like they were playing a game of hide and seek and didn’t know if they were “it” or not.

I ‘member oh yes, yes I do.
