Based on what I saw against UGA, Ignont and Sapp were our fastest LB's, They just weren't always running to the correct place.

I totally agree. We must play Sapp against Auburn. Auburn’s offense snaps are too fast for Kirkland. Kongbo has a nice body and great football look but hasn’t contributed at all, Austin Smith deserves a chance.

He's not going to do squat here

We produce more busts than any school I can think of. Our DL and OL recruits in 2015 looked so stacked and yet none of those guys have done much in college and will struggle to make an NFL roster. Meanwhile, guys like Rashan Gary, Derrick Brown, Ed Oliver, and Greg Little who were 5*s coming out of high school are all projected to be top 10 picks.

And even when we get gamebreaking talent we find a way to waste it (CP, Kamara).

I agree with this to a certain extent.

However, not running the ball 80% of the time on first down isnt equivalent to “opening it up” or doing “more complicated stuff.” Playcalling can be varied without having to implement new or complicated things.
just to add here...
siap, but JG is averaging a little over 18 attempts/game. add KC's attempts, and as a team, we're averaging just over 21 att/game.

i don't htink we have to make wholesale changes, and i don't think we have to start flinging it 30 times a game.

but can we get to to the 24-26 range? yeah, i think so, and we can probably do that by simply being a little more judicious on our 1st down play calling....

it'd be alot easier to establish a run game when you're at 2nd and 4 or less vs. 2nd and 9+.

If you have to surround a QB win great talent to perform then he isn’t a good QB... QB is the ultimate Duck tape position they make bad rosters look better.
yep. but that's what Bama has made a living on the last few years....lol...not comparing, just a statement....cause on the flip side, LSU is on the other end of that spectrum.

fyp because I think those days are over with this regime.

At least that is my hope.

It's not that he's a bad QB or anything, he just really doesn't have a positive impact on a game whatsoever. Doesn't make plays. I doubt he's the QB next year.

I think he’ll be displaced too. Someone else will get serious run at the job. I just don’t think he’s a winning-type QB. Seems like a good kid who loves the game, he’s just not in the right conference.

i think it's a bit early to be calling who the starting qb will be next year...........

but i think as we have already seen at other places around the country, the notion that the incumbent is the started until he leaves is no longer valid.

safe to say, i think there will be a legit competition again next year.

I think “not having a positive impact on the game” qualifies as a bad QB.
i dunno i'd say that. i don't think he's "bad" either.
but he's not proven to be anything other than "just another guy" on a team full of "Just another guys".

and your QB can be just another guy, if you have a bunch of "dudes" around him.

which we don't have.

Jg is way better than last year. Sadly his ceiling is a mediocre college QB it looks like.
agreed. that's potentially the case....i am curious to see what, if anything, he can do with a couple years with the same OC...

he is on his 3rd one.........in a new system.

how he performs down the stretch against the "lighter" part of the schedule, and in to next year's qb competition will probably be very telling.

LSU has had flat out bad QBs outside of maybe Mettenberger. College football has like 5 Legit QBs a year tops really.
agreed. and for most college programs, you don't necessarily have to have a sam darnald or tua type QB.

i mean look at Fromm. he's not wowing anyone with his physical ability. but he's super smart, understand his offense, how to get in to good plays, out of bad ones, and has enough skill to deliver the ball to some really good skill players. he has a reliable running game. and all of htat allows him to operate extremely efficiently. and he has the physical ability to do it.

if he develops a deep ball game, then he starts to get in to that upper tier like you're talking about.

not saying JG can be that. but i think he has room to grow closer to that.

and i'm not poo pooing Fromm. but, when you think about GA, From isn't the 1st guy you think of that scares the crap out of you...
