Just had a bird fly into the house. 👀

That winged SOB took a beeline to my newborns room and flew right over his crib. Ah hayul no. After mama bear swooped into protect little dude, big daddy dealt with that thumbless punk and caught him with a fly-fishing net. Have I caught more birds than fish with that net? Maybe. But that’s not the question. He’s back outside. That was... exciting.

That’s enough Monday for me, I’m done.

A bird? At this hour? Sure it wasn’t a bat?

Positive. Thank God. We’ve always had birds wander into our garage. I think they nest somewhere in there. Of course the kitchen light was on and it was pitch dark out there so naturally it had to come in. Little 🤬

Speaking of bat, that bird would make a nice target.

I desperately want to believe this is true and that it will give us the advantage we need to win on Saturday. But this just sets itself up as another get your hopes up kick in the nads type game. I’m sorry, I definitely have BVS.

On JG

I think JG is ok, not great, but someone you can win with if he's got talent around him. I think the offensive line has been so bad that you can't draw conclusions about much else. I also think JG would probably be in a different place developmentally if he wasn't working with his third OC in three years.

This sounds so much like me teaching drill to the newbies in my JROTC classes every year. When we start they have such a hard time with the basics; they can't even stay in step. The class leaders, usually seniors, get so impatient and frustrated with me because they want to teach them some of the more complicated stuff, the fun stuff, you know, "open it up". I have to keep reminding them that it's a waste of time trying to teach them how to do that stuff until they can at least stay in step. It's one step at a time, pun intended.
That is exactly what is happening.

I agree with this to a certain extent.

However, not running the ball 80% of the time on first down isnt equivalent to “opening it up” or doing “more complicated stuff.” Playcalling can be varied without having to implement new or complicated things.

I hate it but it seems to be the case. The OL can’t execute a simple off tackle run. How can we “open up” the playbook when that’s the case?

I don’t understand it. How complicated do blocking schemes get? I thought Will Friend was an OL whisperer? Just go blow somebody up! How many times have our OL been looking behind them as if they are double checking that the RB is, indeed, going the same way they are? Never seen anything like it.
