2018 Midterm Election Thread

No one feels confirming an innocent man is a bad look. Many feel confirming a perjurer and probable sex offender is a bad look. Try to keep that distinction straight.
We'll have some actionable data in a few weeks.

Dude, Bill Clinton isn’t getting confirmed to the Supreme Court.

Don’t worry your little head over it.

Don’t worry, TSwift to the rescue!

Isn’t she kind of part of the problem tho? Doesn’t she write songs about pining for disgusting men and others dissing female acquaintances? You don’t need a man to be happy girl! DOWN WITH THE PATRIARCHY
Who gives a flying fig what Taylor Swift thinks?

She's an entertainer.

Sing for me.

Her political opinion means nuthin'.

Anyone that puts the three of them in the same comparative category obviously has no insight into that demographic. She has remained publicly neutral for years, but no longer. The reasons why are what should be concerning to all.
Is Trump Driving Women Away From the GOP for Good?

The gender gap began with white men leaving the Democratic Party in the late 1950s and early 1960s in response to the civil rights and women’s movements, Democratic pollster Anna Greenberg explains. Only more recently did women start actively leaving the GOP. For two decades now, they have been leaking away from the Republican Party, very slowly becoming independents, while independents have been drifting toward the Democrats. In 1994, according to Pew, 42 percent of women identified as or leaned Republican, as did 52 percent of men. By 2017, only 37 percent of women and 48 percent of men still did. In 1994, 48 percent of women and 39 percent of men identified as or leaned toward the Democrats. By 2017, those numbers were 56 percent of women and 44 percent of men.

So McConnell today talked about the GOP making another pick in 2020. He modified his no appointment during a POTUS election year to be unless the GOP controls both the WH and the Senate.

Good job, Mitch. You just gave the Dems more reason to do everything they possibly can to try to win the Senate this year.

LOL, I think you all self nuked your party over the last couple of weeks.

LOL, two things:

1. McConnell wasn't wrong, he was 100% correct, the guy was twisting the facts to meet his argument.
2. The Liberal news media never shy away from going after a conservative while throwing soft balls at the liberals.

I agree, it would be nice if they go after both equally but I've not seen any MSM outlets take a democrat to task in years.

Oh please the media has been giving the libs “ reasons “ 24/7 since election night totals in 2016. Nothing Mitch does will change that either way

So did somebody fact check this? Is McConnell right in that you have to go back to 1880 for a case of a SCOTUS open seat with differing parties in the WH and the Senate. Mitch was pretty adamant he was correct while the other guy kept trying to twist it.

I looked a while back but didn’t go back to the 1800’s. The condition that existed in 2016 was pretty uncommon at the least.

The commentator acknowledged McConnell was correct. He backtracked and said the highest ranking republic which had no power since the Senate was controlled by the Dems. Totally different dynamic.
