If it has done massive damage, then I am blind to it. The 7th FBI investigation was an acknowledged joke. Interviewed 4 people? It was a clever ploy to provide cover for republicans that obviously worked for many. Others, not so much. As Trump forces the divide ever wider, it will be harder for anyone to remain in the middle. (temporary)
My guess would be that your guess is wrong. It's kind of like putting a campaign sign in your yard or a sticker on your car. Why would anyone ever do that? Like anyone cares for whom that particular person is going to vote. Candidates seem to love it though. To regain the spotlight would be my honest guess. I've never been a big fan of celebrity endorsements. Being a celebrity doesn't make your opinion more relevant.

Given the accusation and testimony by Ford and K, 3 would have sufficed on the front end and if neither of the 3 strayed away from their original statements on record there was no need to look any further. I'm guessing "guilty as accused Schumer" would have already gone public within mins of release had one of them did.If it has done massive damage, then I am blind to it. I understand everything you said. I just disagree with that being the view of centrists. That is the view of the right as portrayed by the right. What you call centrist, I call right. What I call centrist, you call left.Obviously, you are welcome to that view. And yet within the hour I've read your admitted partisanship. I believe that when you are honest you admit to seeing life through the lens of your partisanship.
Now, consider how the nation of centrists see this, as I've listed above. A sexual accusation, with no evidence to support it, that the Dem senate minority leader sat on for weeks, only to pull the trigger on at the MOST inopportune time for your political enemies, while reminding the nation of the R's stunts to cheat Obama of an appointment. They refused to believe K on anything, calling him everything from sexual predator, to whatever else, with no evidence. They refused to call the accuser anything but a hero. They used the accuser to purposefully put the Rs in the uncomfortable position of questioning the accuser, just so they could use the accuser to paint the Rs as victim-haters. After sitting on it, they then claimed the Rs didn't take enough time to investigate, even though he'd been through 7 FBI investigations. They had six more weeks of investigation at will, but didn't want investigation. They wanted delay past mid terms.
Now, the rest of the die hard supporters are picketing, clawing their way into the SC. Harassing senators, going to twitter to promise a revolution. The left is morally chastising everyone else for abiding the principle of assumption of innocence.
You know all of this as well as I do. You just think the rest of the nation will be as accepting of it as you are.
You yourself said it's a "bad taste". To a centrist, it's MUCH more than that. It is the last straw in the weaponization of amoral government. It's the evil face beneath the mask of the Dem party.
Of course you don't see it. I suspect everyone else does, and it will show like a typhoon for quite some time.

Who was the last democrat you voted for in a presidential election?
True, the center is not left nor is it right, by definition. The size of the center would depend on the definition. If defined as a person who has voted for both parties for president, senate, or US rep. in the past 10 years, I'm not sure it would be that large. If a person views the latest supreme court confirmation debacle as a stain on the dems. only and not the repubs, or at a minimum both., then by my definition, they weren't center to begin with.Bill Clinton. Despite your ignorant views of me, I truly am a conservative centrist. I am actually left of center on most social issues. Fairly conservative on most economic issues. I'd say I'm pretty close to a classical liberal.
And you just proved my point that you view this through your democrat blinders. The center is not left. The center is much bigger than you think it is. And it will hurt you.
Is it in favor of R's?
We will wait and see.True, the center is not left nor is it right, by definition. The size of the center would depend on the definition. PS: I've voted for exactly one Republican presidential candidate in that same time since Clinton. Trump wasnt it. No matter how much you want to make me a Republican, you will fail.True, the center is not left nor is it right, by definition. The size of the center would depend on the definition. I would say that most Americans just want people to get our each other's lives to the extent that we're not breeding hate, limiting personal rights needlessly, etc. They want to be able to go to work, make ends meet, and get ahead a little more every day. They are sick of the dirty politics. You're not a Republican. You're a right wing fringe lunatic. Get it right.

Luther thinks the Republicans confirming an innocent man is a bad look to average America over the politics that I've listed twice. I predict he will be sadly surprised. When he realizes just how far most Americans are from his fringe left lenses, he may have to move to Canada.
No one feels confirming an innocent man is a bad look. Many feel confirming a perjurer and probable sex offender is a bad look. Try to keep that distinction straight.I would say that most Americans just want people to get our each other's lives to the extent that we're not breeding hate, limiting personal rights needlessly, etc. They want to be able to go to work, make ends meet, and get ahead a little more every day. We're talking about how people that aren't leftists see this. Most people value the presumption of innocence over guaranteed victimhood. That's the point. We'll have some actionable data in a few weeks.
You do realize she is backing a candidate who was pro Kavanaugh right?Anyone that puts the three of them in the same comparative category obviously has no insight into that demographic. She has remained publicly neutral for years, but no longer. The reasons why are what should be concerning to all.
