If Perry ends up committing to SCAR, that could push Robinson to UT. Robinson is planning to take an unofficial to SCAR this weekend, after UT coaches visited him this week. UGA is targeting other DBs. Wonder when dominos will start falling?
sounds like they're getting a nudge as we speak....stuff is happening.

Care to elaborate?

Gray, Robinson and Watson weren't serious targets until recently, but have moved up because of need and other guys, like Hill, going elsewhere. We've moved on from Hill and Bush. Bogle and To'oto'o seem less likely, so guys like Moore have become a bigger target. Norton seemed a long shot, but the coaches have really strengthened that relationship. We need another OL (Wright), a speedy RB (Gray), at least one more DB (possibly a safety and a CB-- Watson and Robinson) and pass rushers (Moore and Norton). A few other guys are in play, too. So our board has been shuffled as we try to upgrade where we can, especially where we need it most, and lock down spots before early signing.

This is what I was talking about last week and this past weekend--- crazy that we have so much talent on paper, but Butch and Co had severely underdeveloped this roster... Programs like KY we see are maximizing player's potential while Butch has/had been literally wasting talent. Pruitt and Co definitely have their work cut out, but the good news is that we do actually have talent, it just needs to be coached up...

Recruiting class rankings typically forecast which college football programs will be competing for championships every year.
Tennessee is one of the outliers bucking the trend.
247Sports on Thursday unveiled its updated Team Talent Composite — the feature looks at the rosters of every FBS team and, accounting for transfers, dismissals and graduation, ranks them based on how their players ranked in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite coming out of high school — for 2018 and the Vols checked at No. 15.

Where Tennessee landed in the updated rankings isn't necessarily surprising because its past four recruiting classes were ranked fourth (2015), 14th (2016), 17th (2017) and 21st (2018) for an average recruiting finish of 14th.
However, the Vols are one of the biggest underachievers in college based on the Team Talent Composite alongside Florida State (No. 5) and UCLA (No. 19), two programs that like Tennessee have new coaches this season.

KY-- #32
Mizz-- #42
Vandy-- #45

and they all could potentially beat us.

Still waiting for Pruitt to show me he’s worth a lick TBH.

I kept hearing the same things from sources within the program that I’ve heard before, that Pruitt was stunned how bad UT’s roster really was, that this would be a long rebuild and that UT was nowhere near their SEC counterparts — and not just the really good ones. At first, I discounted that notion. I had heard the same sort of comments when other coaches took over. It’s always smart to lower the bar when taking over a program. Nobody needs high expectations to begin their tenure at a new school. Now, I believe the Vols are worse than we ever imagined.

I agree that Pruitt probably did't realize how bad this roster was prior to taking the job.

At this point, you don't see any likelihood of going after a second qb? Is tua's brother fully out the running now?

The way he reacted after the Georgia game says a lot in my opinion. The talent isn’t good - and I think he knew that to a certain degree. I think what shocked him the most was how bad the culture was. And I think he got emotional because he could see signs of that changing.

No playmakers outside of Chandler. Young, inexperienced O-line. No depth on D-line. Next year we'll have to replace our starting D-line. This is a 3-4 year rebuild.

Maybe so. I’m more confident in this staff from a recruiting/talent evaluation/development standpoint than I have been since the Kiffin staff. Game day coaching - especially on offense - has not been very good but that can change.

All told, I still think we need to see a big jump next year and I’m confident that we will.

We have playmakers. We just don't have anyone to give them the ball.

Sure. If we can get a top QB, we could create a spot. We have question marks at that position, don't really know what we have in Shrout and could have transfers. We could look at taking a grad transfer, too, and keep pushing hard for Bailey in 2020.

This 4 year redshirt rule is going to open up a lot of 1.2. And maybe 3 year options after the season.

I think this is accurate, and this is what I was referring to a week or two ago when I quoted a post from LA Vol in which Fulmer was rumored to have been very optimistic about the season. From what I understand, Fulmer watched a lot of practices when Pruitt took over, and he saw what Pruitt saw. The roster wasn't very good, and rebuilding the program was going to take time.
