Because he’s arguably the best college coach of all time. You ever listened to someone smarter talk to you? You’re bound to learn something. The main takeaway from his speech, IMO, is that players will feed off the fans vibes even if they have been successful. It’s kind of even more embarrassing for Alabama fan considering their success. Anyways, a lot of players came here to play in front of our fans every Saturday and when we’re bitching and moaning cause we didn’t take the number 3 team to the woodshed....yeah, that’s gonna reverberate well.
And no, I’m not trying to say the team can’t improve. Try not to put those words in my mouth. I’m just saying, the players can and will feed off our energy.
Fans don't make it miss blocks, fans don't make it miss tackles. We don't call plays. We don't play football. The players do. Does crowd noise matter? Yeah sometimes. I've been UT fan all my life. I've been to only a handful of games. I actually prefer to watch on TV. You think that makes me any less of a fan? Ok, fine. I could really care less what anyone thinks of me, especially Nick Saban.Probably because he is one of the best college coaches to ever lead a team, and that team has been a pillar of success that is almost unprecedented in the history of college football. I'm not saying that everything Nick Saban says about college football is gospel, but when he speaks we should be smart enough to listen. If we don't listen to his words, then who should we listen to?
And my post wasn’t a shot at that particular post at all. It’s just amazing how you’re always around and playing the contrarian, all while supposedly being a huge fan of the Vols. And no, I’m not questioning your fandom, I’m just saying it seems awfully miserable....unless you enjoy being a smug dolt. That wasnt a shot at the team, its a shot at fans that constantly blame fans for the teams woos

The question you responded to asked.... Why UT fans should care what Nick says?Probably because he is one of the best college coaches to ever lead a team, and that team has been a pillar of success that is almost unprecedented in the history of college football. Check out what the demigod, Nick Saban, had to say, even with all their sucess

Well stated. It honestly doesn't take Nick Saban saying it for us to know that fans can impact a team.
That Tennessee fans can impact our Vols.
So yeah, there are a host of ways we impact our lads and coaches. Some of which folks here will deny, because they don't want to admit they've done a lousy job with some of it.
- We impact them by showing up for Vol Walk.
- We impact them by sharing positive energy. filling the stadium and NOT booing (boos don't come with address labels; no matter who or what you boo, some players are going to think it's directed at them....that's just human nature. So don't).
- We impact them by making it tough for opposing teams to communicate. Noise, from the stands.
- We impact them every time a fan posts a response to a player or coach on Twitter. In Facebook. To email.
- We impact them with what we say when we run into them at the mall, or in a restaurant.
- We impact them indirectly in the ways we interact with their parents, brothers, cousins, or uncles on VN.com.
Nick Saban or no Nick Saban.
Go Vols!
