Could Pruitt and Helton be doing this on purpose?

We had a player state that if the team player to their best we wouldn’t have a problem winning every game on our schedule. So far that hasn’t happened. Giving up the deep ball against WV, giving the ball to Fl and Ga getting some lucky (A football can bounce funny. That doesn’t mean it has to bounce in the worst way for us. Some still believe there is no luck in football. I can lol at that.) bounces, we just haven’t played our best. That’s not figuring anything else that is below the standard CJP has set for the team.

Our offensive game plan has appeared to be run the ball to shorten the game. The defense has been trying to get stops anyway possible. Goal line D at the 50.

Our schemes will start to click better, our guys will make fewer mistakes and maybe just maybe that funny bounce by that funny shaped ball that bounces funny will bounce for us.

I like our chances. Let the chips fall.

I would like to see some more vertical offensive play calls and our defense to make a few more calls that put our guys in better position.

One of the things CJP&S is doing on purpose is trying to win every game. If you take all the food from the 3 games we lost it’s enough to win 1 game. If you take all the stuff we did wrong in those 3 losses tht enough to lose all our games. So we are 2 win up based on how we have played and coached.

CJP&S needs to get the players to fix their stuff and the coaches need to fix their stuff too.

Bring on All burn!

We all know that Pruitt really hates to lose and I think he badly wants to end this season on the upside and with some positive motivation to inspire our players and to try to help with recruiting.

THINK about a few things my friends...

1...We all knew that in game 1 it wasn't likely that we'd Win against a prospective heiStman QB with his record setting WR's after what they proved they could do last season but we didn't lose as badly as I thought could happen.

2...Games 2 and 3 we all knew should be WINS and they were.

3...floriDUHHH we all hoped would be a WIN but I've never seen such a run of bad luck in my almost 65 years on this Earth and granted some of that was caused by us simply being a bad footVol Team so we were 2-2 on the season like many of us expected.

4...Now comes OMG what a scheduled unreal gauntlet we have to try to survive with few injuries starting with # 2 ranked UGa and then # 9 allbarn and then #1 ranked alaBubba, Holy smokes, what a meat grinder to have to face!

That takes us through 7 games and we'll probably be 2-5 unfortunately unless we get a miracle Win somewhere.

That leaves 5 games to try our best to Win 4 of them to make a bowl game, not likely, right?

Now THINK about these things my friends...

1...Our O has been very vanilla all season, I don't recall seeing any new plays or wrinkles at all so far, none.

In spite of that I have to believe that Helton HAS been adding 1 or 2 new plays every week, that will be 7 to 14 new plays by the time we finish the alabubba game that NOBODY has seen, not even reporters in the short time they are allowed to see practices.

I also believe that Pruitt has been trying his best to keep getting improvements made and trying NOT to get any top players hurt during the gauntlet.

I also have to believe that Pruitt HAS some blitz packages up his sleeves that he just hasn't used yet.

This is just my guess and I could certainly be wrong but I believe that in our last 5 games this season we ARE going to see some things come out on both sides of the ball that nobody has seen before except for our coaches and players.

It's normal for most teams to get better as the season goes along and I've already seen progress from our footVol Team.

I just think that Pruitt and Helton simply ARE working on some things for our last 5 games that will take everyone by surprise and, with a little good luck for a change, just might get us into a bowl game.

This just seems logical considering how vanilla we've been all season...so far.

There's my guesses and the reasons behind them so flame away my friends.

So...we.do have talent? Or dont we? So confusing...

Glad to see you back to the "I like our chances" line. Seems you liked our chances last year too.

Hey, how’s it going? When is your next run?

There is talent that has to adjust to new schemes.

I do like our chances this year. I did like our chances last year too.

You seem easily confused.

We let several games slip away from us last year. I expect an improvement in that department this year.

just stay healthy through the gauntlet....more experience.

Coaching and training is a continuous process never stops.

Grade this team on the back end of the season....May not win a single SEC game but looking back and comparing to the first part of the season may give us hope.

On purpose, No. Just a learning experience...a teaching experience and a coaching experience....

Sometimes you have to take an organization down to ground zero to build back up into a champion....

Doing good you? Next big run is marine corps marathon at end of the month. Hoping to qualify for my first ultra there, but im right on the board. Well see.

I agree with talent / scheme and dont really like how coaches have handled it this far.

No I dont like our chances this year, I dont thinkbwe let many slip away, we just.weren't good, just like this year. Got a pretty good chance at solid 6-8 wins next year. If not might be groundhog day for next few years.

They tricked Georgia with the punt formation, so I guess anything is possible, yes?

If this post is read as a narrative in the voice of the main character of A Clockwork Orange, it's a lot funnier, my friends.

Got some life stuff going on but so far so good.

I would like for us to go down swinging. Too conservative on the game plan and in general the play calls. I do like going for it on 4th, the onside kick and going for two business, but the routine play calling on offense is taxing. As for defense, that has to become instinctive.

I also believe we aren’t nasty. I don’t expect cheap shots but we hit too high to make the tackle too many times. I think it may be to avoid injuring the other players. I get that. It’s very respectable, but when the game is on the line, make the tackle.

Last year Fl, Ky, SC and Vandy slipped thru our finger tips(SC literally.). Even LSU kind of slipped away.

I’m not saying we didn’t go 4-8, I am saying it’s a game of inches and we didn’t make enough plays to win when there were only a few plays that needed to be made that could have change how last year turned out all together.

Hmmm. I hope that’s just Pruitt being coy with the media. There’s no doubt we need to open it up earlier in the games.
Not sure but if I had to guess...
We have more plays in the playbook, and practice more plays than we see during games.
On game day, we come out and run our basic offense and if the simplest things are executed, we will up another step.
Our execution of the basics has sucked so far, imo.

I actually think we think about the same,.just deliever a different way. I good with d performance so far except tackling. It.could be a ton better, but all things considered it's okay. Form tackling only comes through reps anyway. The only real issue I have with the staff so far is offensive game plans. We have nothing to lose, we arent good we all know it. So come out swinging and don't stop. Oline sucks, everyone knows it...so.get the ball away from it quickly the whole game with a few plays just to keep d honest. It likely wouldnt change the won lose record, but fighting hard and lossing by 10-14, is alot better than losing by 26 with conservative gameplans and it would go a long way with fan support.

Hope all the life stuff works out..

Ah the old “keeping one in the chamber” argument.

Nope. These guys are competitors and want to win them all. What you’ve described is a Dooley / Jones style tactic.
