It doesn’t go to known Antifa or communists as they would most likely be the reason for the alert in the first place.

I understand that, but as technology evolves, so do the types of notifications. Text is just another method of getting the word out if needed. Doesn't bother me a bit honestly.

I do wonder if people were griping about the EBS notifications on the radio and TV after they started?

I think it's a good idea, particularly if it's used correctly - National Emergency, Terrorist Attack, Weather Emergency, etc.
Will these alerts be location specific or just blasted out to every phone?

I'll be sure to let my 65+ year old, white as biscuits, conservative Christian co-worker know he has been flagged as a communist.

A job, a house, a car.. I can't believe I've fooled all these folks but the checks still keep getting deposited so who am to I question God's will?

I still hate those. Not sure I've ever seen one that wasn't just a test.
