His point was legitimate.
It's not just Bama, all schools play against cupcakes. Our numbers are bad but how are our stats padded if everyone is doing the same?
The worst is red zone defense. Tied for last.
Noone denies a bit of a talent gap, but to say the coaches are getting all they can out of these players is just a failure to be objective and not wanting to criticize the coaching staff at all. I get it, because somehow crticizing the coach somehow means you want them fired after an incomplete pass and for some coach worship is the only hope for the future.more than likely....we have some good players, and some not so good players.
Dont criticize player execution either because then you have "something personal" against them. I think its best to just blame the fans.Noone denies a bit of a talent gap, but to say the coaches are getting all they can out of these players is just a failure to be objective and not wanting to criticize the coaching staff at all. The coaching doesnt gameplan around a known weakness. They started out the uga hame doing so with some effectiveness then reverted back. We have play makers on o, we just limit their chances to make plays because we dont get the ball away from the line quickly.JMO....but the Defense, QB, WR's are all playing better than last year. RB's about the same. The OL, well, what can be said about that. They are worse only because Trey Smith isn't right.
Based on that, the coaching is better, so it's Talent!
I see that. So, I'll agree to say that it's 15% coaching and 85% talent. The coaching doesnt gameplan around a known weakness. The d coaching is pretty solid as you would expect. Tackling is pretty real bad. Secondary and lb leave alot to be desired but that seems to be lack of effort and of course when the d line plays good it makes your whole look much better.
If our loses are solely happening because of a lack of talent alone, then given the fact that we are giving up ~400 yards a game, and losing by 4 or more scores, then it's doubtful that Pruitt will accrue enough "talent" over the entirety of his 6-year contract to start winning. Between natural attrition, injuries, and the inevitable busts, we'll never have a loaded roster of 4-5 *s on both side of the ball.
That wasn't what he said.Cupcakes and weak conferences will pad stats and make decent teams look great but teams like Bama, OSU, UGA, all perform well against ranked and unranked. So Bama might have their stats padded by week 4 but after a full season it's apparent that they are legit.
Bama has played a bad Louisville team, a bad Ole Miss team, an average Texas A&M team, the Ragin Cajuns and Arkansas State. 12-12 record combined. Let's wait before we make the claim that they are unbeatableThat wasn't what he said.
Our stats can't be padded because everyone has played cupcakes. So all the stats are equal. That was his point, doesn't matter if it's Bama or any other team.
Not that Alabama isn't legitament.
