The Plan for JJ Peterson

No one man is going to save us from what looks to be a losing season. JP should be redshirted so he has a spring and summer training. Rushing him into games now would be counterproductive in the long run.

So first college football game will be against Alabama? I like it, it's ballsy. Perhaps he will turn out to be the Waterboy, and we will stun them.

Coach said when he arrived he would be in shape around October to November so he is for sure redshirted he will play in some games maybe the four he circled because why not take advantage of the new rule and it helps the young man get better.

'Not reasonable to risk getting him hurt whilst no doubt losing those games anyhow. Let's maybe suppose JJ circled those games on his own. No HC, knowing this kid's potential, would risk losing him permanently without at least having him in solid hitting shape. I'd say if he plays at all this season...and he most likely will...he'll participate in those last four games. The possibility of somehow making a bowl game is better inducement for his talents with those lesser talented teams than those he circled. Make sense?

Auburn has a very good defense, but they aren't great on offense. At least so far they have struggled there some. They beat southern miss 24-13. I think we make a game of it against them. Not saying we win, but I wouldn't be surprised if we are within 2 touchdowns are somewhere close to that. I am not sold on the tigers completely as a top 10 team, maybe top 20 is more like it. GBO

Maybe you should trust the coaches, why not play the guy if he can help us and he is ready. He can play 4 and still not lose the redshirt. People are going to take advantage of this rule, freshman want to play and this way they can wait later in the year if they need the extra practice and to get into the best shape possible. It's different if a player isn't ready or cannot make a impact. Injuries can happen anytime, if he is healthy and in shape and can help by all means play him. I guarantee the coaches aren't going to put him in if he don't think he can help and make a impact. They know a lot more than any of us on here, they see them everyday. GBO!!!!!

Makes sense to me. Next question...if we win 4 more and go to a bowl, would he be able to play in the bowl game.

Not a chance we can play with Auburn. Maybe he can impact the game vs a bad Vandy team. Only thing I can figure.

It also gives him an extra week of preparation by skipping the Auburn game. to learn the playbook and his assignments as well! But I also agree with your theory

I saw that image this morning. I thought Alabama over Missouri was odd though...
