FPI had us at#7 remaning games before UGA. Don't recall where we were ranked before season began.Six ranked opponents puts our schedule up there among the hardest.
When we started the season, it was only four, and our schedule was second-tier difficulty.
But now, that's going to grade out pretty near the top.
Not that it matters if we don't win more than four games. Only those with 10 or 11 wins care much about how their schedule difficulty compares to others.
Huh?
Kentucky, that hotbed of top-tier high school recruits?
Afraid I'm not following you here.
Because we are already competing with Georgia, Florida, Alabama, FSU, and Clemson for talent within a 250 mile radius of Knoxville. Adding in another SEC option for players, will make it all the more difficult.
This board is like āGroundhog Dayā sometimes.
Every year, itās the same thing. Donāt respect anyone on the schedule outside of Alabama and some other team then, after losing games, take note of how difficult the schedule is.
A few weeks ago, West Virginia was a mediocre, barely .500 team from the Big 12 and Florida was trash.
I was actually watching a documentary on the Dead Sea Scrolls the other day and they uncovered one that was discussing Kentucky vs Georgia for the SEC East. True story! That was my thought. Your going to be looking at ancient artifact scrolls to find the last time UGA vs UK was to determine SEC East champions.
No but seriously...how is Florida actually ranked? Every year it seems like more and more ass kissery for those guys. "something something...DAN MULLEN....something..TIM TEBOW...something something.. MASS SUSPENSIONS...wait..we didn't mean to talk about that last one."
Syracuse is a good team and Clemson lost their QB and still found a way to win. I thought they were doomed.Kentucky was left out of the OP... and Florida really doesn't deserve to be ranked at all based on the crap teams they have beaten (and yes, we are the crappiest of them) but it won't last. And gee, I wonder who is voting Clemson #1 after their struggle at home with Syracuse yesterday?
Why don't you spend time with your own kind and get off of our board? All you UF posters are nothing but a bunch of condescending trolls, and for some reason some on here carry water for you.
Agreed. We don't deserve to be ranked. On the other hand, the only team that beat us so far is ranked 13 while we were missing important defensive elements, and yesterday we beat a 23 ranked MSU in a hostile starkville, after dominating you guys in Neyland better than UGA dominated you in Athens and we are making progress every week.
I think we deserve to drop off the rankings if we lose to LSU, but we only lost to them by 1 point last year, and I like our chances in the Swamp. You see, unlike JP, Mullen is actually coaching something out of our dumpster fire, because that is what good coaches do. There is still a decent chance we lose every SEC game going forward, but it won't be from lack of effort.
Wasn't the KY running back who plays for Green Bay one that got away from Knoxville? Tennessee does not need players to have more savory choices than already exist. Randall Cobb.Because we are already competing with Georgia, Florida, Alabama, FSU, and Clemson for talent within a 250 mile radius of Knoxville. Adding in another SEC option for players, will make it all the more difficult.
I'm trying not to get ahead of myself since we are still a month from shooty hoops, but I think we have a shot at winning the conference and making an elite 8 run. The pieces are in place for a great season. How crazy would it be if KY won the East in football and we win the conference in basketball? KY will not beat out UGA anyway. We will, however, win the SEC in basketball!
