Gave up more points than our offense scored, so that's still an issue.
*Gave up 441 yards of offense
*Gave up 38 points
*Got much worse on 3rd down- allowed Ga to convert 8-14 3rd downs and 1-1 4th downs
*Allowed 251 yards rushing and 5 yds per carry
*Didnt, again, force any turnovers.
*GA dropped at least 2 balls that would’ve been huge gains if not scores.....if they make those plays, which they normally do, it would’ve been much worse.

Are we really excited about this defensive “performance”? Kinda ridiculous if you are.

Why even try to look for positives with posters like you two? Let's just pick out all the negatives... Always.. Because that is what y'all are all about. I challenge you two to pick positives about the team, and discuss them.. All us that see improvement are WELL aware of the negatives.. Why not for once.. Talk about the good things that you picked up on the team or individual player did.. Because they are there..

The post you responded to said that we did not create any turnovers. You responded "no" and went on to explain we caused two fumbles that were not recovered. So you should re-read and boost your comprehension abilities. After that, you can worry about my outlook and your pumping of sunshine.

Dude, don’t be a douche

Anyone seeing improvement in games with just about identical results and pathways of arriving there is having delusional thoughts and irrational dreams. I understand it for you, but don't force your psychosis on me.

Nothing delusional about seeing progress and wanting to talk about it.. I am not forcing anything.. You either see it or you don't..

I thought our defense looks respectable considering at one time we had 3-4 true freshman on the field against the #2 in the country. Got some pressure on the QB and forced 2 fumbles. Looks like progress to me but I am sure some will only see the bad.. sad people

Man I didn't realize when I joined this site that some of the members would be even more discouraging than the team.

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a defense laying the wood like we did yesterday. We still have a ways to go but I thought the energy and heart our boys played with yesterday was the best so far this year. The opening hit on Frohm from Alexis Johnson fired me up, that’s how you let a QB know it’s not gonna be an easy day for him. Shoutout to Alexis for that big time hit. The hit on fields was also a great hit, there are several more that I’m missing off the top of my head but I will go back and watch film to figure out the rest of our big time hits yesterday. Defensive line played much better as a unit yesterday, Darrel Taylor came out of his shell yesterday and was making some big time plays for us. Most notably that first strip off frohm. Taylor’s first step yesterday was great and I hope that’s a sign of more to come. Eventually those fumbles are gonna go our way, We just have to continue to apply pressure like we did yesterday and things will be fine. I like where our defense is right now and I’m excited to see how they can progress throughout the year. What was everyone else’s opinion on our defense yesterday??
The defense isn’t the problem. It’s an offense that doesn’t sustain drives and lets the defense get exhausted that’s the issue.

We definitely have to find a way to run the football more effectively against big/aggressive/good defensive front’s around the league. Gotta give some credit to Georgia though, their well coached and they execute extremly well on defense.

If the O would create a drive, hold the ball, put points on the board the D would continue to lay the lumber. With 3 and outs the D is worn down in third and forth, and that showed yesterday. Once the secondary gains some experience the D will be solid.
I'm looking forward to the days ahead when once again or D is headhunters and feared. It's coming.

I do believe the first hit on Fromm was by kongbo wasn’t it?

I think it was Johnson. It was Georgia’s first play on offense I believe. Frohm completes the out route but Alexis got a Big Time hit on Frohm. It was a clean hit though, great way to set a tempo for the d line though. Frohm definitely felt the hit.

You also have to keep in mind that UGA held the ball for 37 minutes compared to just 22 minutes by UT. That defense was getting worn down. They didn't really start looking awful, to me, till the second half. They weren't great, but they're showing improvement. Still too many missed opportunities and big mistakes, but they're showing improvement at least.
Georgia 1st half- 40 plays, 228 yards
Georgia 2nd half- 35 plays, 213 yards

Equally bad, if not worse on defense, in the first half, before getting “worn down”.

Agree. It could have easily been a lot worse than it was. People need to realize they’re not turning the corner this year or next.

Well then don’t try. Nobody’s asking you to. You give your opinion, we’ll give ours. Pretty simple.

“Picking out the negatives” or just calling it what it is? You guys are incredible, getting all giddy and excited after our defense gives up 38 points, allows 9/15 3rd and 4th down conversions and lets UGA to keep the ball for 37 minutes. Was it better than last year’s defense under Shoop? Yes. Was it anything near approaching what a good SEC defense should be? Absolutely not.

If you think you see progress, fine, shout it from the rooftops. But don’t be threatened by those of who see it as what if actually is......still very poor and nowhere near good enough. 441 yards, 24 first downs, 251 yards rushing and 38 points is still awful.
