It is not our job to fix things.

It is not our job to provide advice on how to fix things.

It is not our job to complain to the AD or coaching staff about how fast or slow things are getting fixed.

It is not our job to "apply pressure" or "let them know" or "put our foot down."

...

As fans we have one job, just the one: to support our team, to support our team fanatically.

Lot of folks in these boards seem to think we have other jobs. We don't.

We have just the one job.

I'm gonna do that. How about you?

EDIT: added a few words in the third line because a lot of folks misunderstood it.

I'm gonna take that as a "no," Hillbilly. That you're not gonna do the one job you signed on for.

Because you didn't sign on to mow the practice fields. You didn't sign on to help the nutritionist or the equipment manager. You sure didn't sign on to coach.

But you did sign on to be a fan. Proof: you created an account on these boards, and your name doesn't include "gator" or "dawg."

So okay, you're not gonna do your one job. Got it. Pity.

Merriam-Webster gives two definitions. You picked the "disapproving" one. I prefer this one:

2 : a person who is extremely enthusiastic about and devoted to some interest or activity

This is a online message board so there's a couple of things you must always remember...

1...This is America so ALL people have the right to voice their opinions, even if those opinions are UNeducated, ignorant and you really hate what they say, they still have the right to say them.

2...Some people have nothing better to do so they come on message boards simply to start a fight and to argue, that's their main fun in life as sad and pathetic as that may be.

You have your choice to make, either ignore them and move along to the next post or to argue and fight back with them and take their bait and start more silly drama on the boards.

I simply post my opinions and move along to another thread.

Some people will agree with me and give me a like, others won't agree and will post their opinions which s fine and is their right.

I don't come here to argue, fight and stir up useless drama, I come to try to learn things about my beloved Vols and read the intelligent posts of some smart Vols fans.

You gain nothing by letting people upset you and falling into their trap to fight like kids.

I don't think anyone is calling for JP head, no one is happy with the results on the field. And it's not 100% Pruitts fault, however as I've stated before he's being compensated well enough to handle some upset fans. He hasn't lost this fan base yet and he's not close to in year one.

I support our team, but with the lackluster performances over the past ten years, the fanaticism is waning.

I miss good football from my team. I miss those nail biter games. Those games where we play our hearts out and leave it all on the field. Whether we win or lose, those were fun games to be a fan.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Don't you wish the fan base had kept quiet 10 months ago so John Currie and Greg Schiano would be running things today?

Us fans should just keep our pie holes shut other than to cheer for beg for autograhs... gotcha

Although I agree with most of what you said, it's not my place to tell another fan how he/she should or shouldn't exercise their fandom

OP, that mindset leads to greg schiano as your head coach.
Don't you wish the fan base had kept quiet 10 months ago so John Currie and Greg Schiano would be running things today?

Fair enough.

There are times for fans to get involved. Like during a coaching search, when the leadership appears to be making a really stupid mistake that the rest of us recognize as wrong.

We're not in one of those extraordinary times. So let's just go back to being fans, eh?

I agree but when something is obvious, I will likely state my opinion. I.E. QB play is,not good, we need to try the 2nd strong QB
Field goal kicker has a weak leg, let's try the 2nd string kicker on long distance kicks. Offensive Coordinator is lost, so let head coach make the calls then at seasons end hire new O C

I prefer that you do you and let everyone else do themselves.

None of us get to decide how other fans should act. We can only choose how we conduct ourselves. And if pretending crap is peanut butter makes you happy, good on you. If letting the chef know his ingredient choice sucks, again good on you.

I may have to eat a crap sandwhich for a few years as a UT fan but I'll be d$#ned if I pretend I like it.

Message board policing cracks me up. Do you realize how much money would be lost online if everyone kept their opinions themselves? Freak loves us know-nothing jackwagons arguing like we know what we're talking about. It's traffic. If we follow the OPs rules the site would be shut down.

Aside from being crude or abusive who cares, don't click it if it bothers you. I'll say what I always say to the message board police- take it up with Freak or don't read it
