The Official Tennesssee @ #2 Georgia Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, CBS

As a player I had more emotion but I think it should be a given that after you just had you butts handed to you that you should get in the locker room. I would expect that as a coach and I'm sure Coach Pruitt does as well. He probably hasn't dealt with anything like this before. It's not just the losing but it doesn't seem to hurt a lot of these guys.
But it isn’t a given. Most don’t feel the way you do. A lot of these players know each other really well. Hell, a quarter of Tennessee’s staff have coached at UGA in the last five years. Lots of ties between these programs at the moment.

And again, the players don’t have anything to feel bad about. They acquitted themselves well. Showed improvement. Beat most people’s expectations.

If acquitting themselves well is a 4 touchdown loss then the players aren't the only ones that have lowered standards. Now I wasn't one that expected a winning season, 6-6 was my prediction, but I don't think getting blown out but not blown out as many as people think is never acceptable.

Pouting won’t change the score or transform a bad team into a good one.

You have to keep things in perspective. Is the team where they want to be? No. Teams never are.

But there are positives to take away from this game.

Lol. They did it in multiple games that year. Obviously you aren't reading posts.

I said name a good team.... 2016 Vols don’t meet that as we gave away the East with a loss to USC and the Sugar Bowl with a loss to Vandy. Good teams don’t do that.

Where has he ever won? Not trying to be a d***, but he is/was an unknown.

Been a winner at every stop. This is his next one. Up to this point, he has inherited good programs. This time, he didn't.

He chose to come here. He knew what he was getting in to. He gets three years (with me) to prove he is, or is not, the right coach.

He's not an unknown. World class DC. He's an unknown as an HC, but I'd rather him prove it here than anywhere else. And I think he will.

Go Vols.

I'm not talking about pouting. I'm talking about looking like losing doesn't bother you. When the camera pans the field at the end of the game after you had your @zz handed to you and you are giggling with players from the other team then it doesn't appear you are bothered at all.The player I'm talking about is a starter and upperclassman.

Lol, okay. Well I bet you wish this team was going to be a 9 win team. Didn't know a 9 win team was a bad team. I mean heck they only won 4 last year..... Maybe you should stop living in the early 90s?

As a coordinator is my point. And it's not like he was doing it at West Pellissippi State. He was at Bama, FSU and UGA. I'm with him as well, but to say he's "proven" is where I don't agree.

He had a few million (3.8 to be exact) reasons to take the job (and I appreciate that he did). I'm on the train as well. As much as I may want to, it's one I won't be leaving

After 2015, 2016 was a disappointment.

I don't disagree at all. But what those teams had was Fight and Heart.

They were obviously not the most talented team on the field those years but they almost never let up and the games they did it was evident that they did let up because we knew what it looked like when they didn't.

I haven't seen that type of heart or fight in this team. I just haven't. Hopefully, they get it.

Now that being said, I saw a lot of good things today from the players. I saw improvement, however, not all of it was on the players.

Coaches shouldn't have to only make adjustments at halftime, when Helton and Pruitt realized their offensive game plan wasn't working it should have been fixed by the start of the 2nd quarter.

That is on the coaches.

Anyways, this team is growing and I like it. But it won't be a team until everyone believes in each other and puts their all in for one another.

Both those teams should have won the East

Yes, I understood. Getting sore over a loss is, in my opinion, pouting.

It’s not like this was a gut punch. The outcome was expected.

It’s not like this was a chippy game, either.

That team also had quit in them. See USC and Vandy games
