Vast Improvement over last week

We gave up 38 points., lost by 26, in my book that's getting your doors blown off. But it wasn't as bad as last year so we've always got that to be proud of you think?!?

No real way to tell how we performed because UGA was just playing with us. They showed that on their last real drive. They needed it and they got up enough to drive it into the end zone. Then we fumble and get another tacked on. But, hey..in Vegas we won!
They didn't hang their heads or quit. The D was just worn out there at the end from being on the field so long due to the offense being so inept

Not that it would have made a difference, but they benefitted from a couple of no calls.
They got away with a block in the back on the fumble that was picked up for a TD and on the drive they got a FG on there was a late hit not calledView attachment 170492View attachment 170492View attachment 170493
I also noticed the block in the back. Of course they also got away with blatant targeting. Even the very pro-GA announcers were commenting on the latter not being called.

People still doubting and complaining....question for you.....

Is this Tennessee Team better or worse than the one that gave up 41 to Georgia at home last year?

I'll hang up and listen

Solid Point. It's the same people who I'm sure will pump sunshine and talk about how much they love this team yada yada....never doubted Pruitt etc etc.

It's hard to call a loss paid positive. But there was improvement. The D looked better if not perfect. The team fought and showed heart making it interesting in the fourth. That's more than I expected today.

The O is a trainwreck. Those 3 formation penalties on punts are worrisome. The 2 point tries were ill advised. Plus 1 to Pruitt on the punt call in the fourth though.

Based on today, I think the D will be fine with good recruiting. The O is of major concern. There was positive, but man do we still have a long way to go.

Today's performance provides a glimmer of hope for SC, KY and Vandy

I'm not impressed at all with JG though
Couple of times he should have took off running but threw it away instead. Highly touted duel threat qb out of high school, I dont see it. Still telegraphs his receiver smh

He's too robotic or something. It's as if he lacks the natural instincts to be an upper echelon "play making" QB

I forgot about that one....
Plays like those two make me wonder sometimes how legit any of this really is. It doesn't seem very likely that either play escaped the notice of all of the officials on the field, and penalties don't get more obvious than either one of those.

I didn't realize the pathetic effort from last year was the benchmark from which to improve. If that is they case, then simply showing up and getting a few first downs is improvement. We still could not stop UGA's running game, couldn't rush the ball effectively, JG is erratic at best, the oline continues to miss blocks, and way too many mistakes/penalties. We had nearly 40 yards rushing through 3/4 of the game. We are nowhere close to being good enough to beat another SEC opponent. We did put more pressure on the qb but other than that no real major strides were made.

If you are so disgusted, then why do you continue to follow them? Because you love Rocky top and always will win or lose that's why

Correct. I will always support my Vols but that doesn't mean we keep trying to put lipstick on this pig. I want Pruitt to succeed but nothing he has shown me thus far gives me any hope he will

It was a 4-TD loss. I guess this is where the program has fallen. Fans are happy when we only lose by 26.

Sorry, but I don’t see much of a difference.

And with a 30.5 point spread and a team that went 4-8 last year with virtually the same players...you were expecting what exactly? That the coach who was hired 5 months ago was going to magically make us an SEC contender day 1? No seriously...what were you expecting?

The offense is averaging 15.7 points per game against Power 5 competition.

Defense is giving up 41.7.

That is not the improvement we are looking for.

Numbers don’t lie.
