i think there's a lot to that actually. pruitt has all but begged for leaders to emerge on this team. and offensively, it can't be a freshman running back, or a 3rd string quarter back, a la Sherion Jones in 2016.

unfortunately for JG, the qb is just looked upon to set the tone. establish the confidence level. if he'll be that guy, the rest of that offense will take his queues, and follow his lead.

but if you're going to be that guy, the first thing you have to do is hold yourself at, or above, the standard you need everyone else to be at. but that's just the first step. and i'm not saing he's not done that, he may have, and now it's time to build on it.

like @Kingston Vol said, something just seems to be missing, and maybe that's it.
You can teach and develop some aspects of leadership, but I believe the best leaders are born that way. I think JG has some qualities but I don't think that they are natural and that is something he will have to work very hard on to utilize what skills he has.

Agreed.

Is JG on pace to graduate this year? I’d bet he is.

I could see Shrout getting major burn in the last 4 games and JG grad transferring out. Shrout will be our guy going forward.
What is crazy is that i could see this being the case also but because jg and chryst get hurt and shrout steps in, moves in the pocket and never looks back. And at that point would we be sitting at shrout and maurer next year. Everyone else graduates and/or transfers? Possible.

You do realize that even CJP himself said he believes the hit was an accident, he was just stumbling. I suspect Smith felt the same since they were just in contact with each other. If he felt it was an accident what's there to retaliate for? And to my knowledge no other player saw it at the time. I realize you're going to believe what you want to believe, but that's the coach's take. When I watch the play, repeatedly, I'm not so sure it was intentional either. But I try not to let my bias affect my view of things. That's just me.

It may not have been intentional. Either way no one likes a late hit on the QB and if that happened to a NFl QB, i bet the lineman would have something to say about it.

I don’t think it is a big deal just saying it was odd.

lol why would I slog through a bunch of old dumbass pots of yours about MJ and Lebron? If I wanted to lose brain cells, I’d rather just take a bunch of shots and run my head into a wall.

You definitely talked up Coleman and how much the coaches “loved his versatility” and how he’d get so many touches. Calling him the best, admittedly, was an exaggeration on my part, but you had him penciled in as the #2 guy on the depth chart at one point. I remember that specifically.

And in the spring you talked up Reid and how the coaches liked him on 3rd down better than guys like Ignont.

No need to default to sarcasm and false praise of JG. I know being disingenuous and deflecting or misrepresenting others’ words is your go-to move and all, but I’ve really got no miscollections about JG’s faults and how limited he is as a QB. I’m definitely hoping to see someone like Shrout, Maurer, or even Taulia maybe jump in and take the reigns in 2019. I doubt JG’s got what it takes to elevate the team.

However I do find it laughably transparent how you rode Chryst’s jock all offseason, backpedaled once it was apparent to all how far behind he was (despite JG not being a good QB either), and have jumped on the UF debacle as on opportunity to beat his drum again.

But go ahead and continue to cast everyone calling out your obvious pro-KC anti-JG bias as irrational JG if it helps you sleep. I don’t mind people criticizing JG. I don’t think he’s that good either. I’ve even advocated giving Chryst some time as the starter to see if a new dynamic would be better for the offense. It is frustrating to see people do it because they have an agenda, though.

I don’t think JG is good. That’s not agenda driven. That’s my opinon.

Big deal i missed on Coleman. I thought the guy played well in the spring and apparently he felt he should’ve been playing too, hence the way he left. He could move on and play well somewhere else or he could end up working at Wendy’s. Idc. When you give your own opinions on people, you’re gonna have some whiffs. I didn’t think josh Malone was good either early on... see how that turned out.

I stand by every take and opinon that i have and try to pass on information that i see and hear. If you don’t like what i say then just hit ignore it’s not a big deal.

I’ve heard

Trey Smith
Treyvon Flowers
Alontae Taylor (bc Pruitt doesn’t let him play WR)
Marquez Calloway
JT Shrout
Jeremy Banks
Bryce Thompson
Ty Chandler
JJ Peterson
Emmitt Gooden

Also heard that Wanya is decommitting, Darnell is no longer considering us, and Smokey has fleas

I have mixed emotions about tomorrow. Honestly dreading the drubbing we are more than likely going to take, but completely intrigued on what we look like. Is it turnover city like UF, do we just lay down and quit like last year, or do we fight and make it a ballgame. If we can protect the football, we're not that bad of a football team and I think our defense can keep us in the ballgame, at least for awhile.
