Don’t act like you didn’t have a hard on for Chryst all offseason. You saw him throw in shorts once and came on here saying he’d be the guy.
Both our QBs aren’t very good. JG has little awareness or pocket presents and Chryst has the arm of a JV QB. The OL doesn’t need give either a chance to do much well. If we had a great offensive mind who can adapt to mot rosters, maybe one of them could be average or better. With what we’ve got in the trenches and an inexperienced OC, neither have a chance this year to do more than hand off and be a tackling dummy.
With Jahmir Johnson still nursing an injury, Tennessee could experiment up front. The Vols have started the same OL combination since Brandon Kennedy was injured, but both K’Rohn Calbert and Riley Locklear are in line to see added work the week. Calbert could play a bunch at left guard even possibly starting if Jamir Johnson can't go, while Locklear as spent the week repping at both guard and center.
Tennessee is also without defensive back Kenneth George, Jr. George had surgery this week due to some issues with stress fractures. George tweeted Thursday evening that he's out for the year.
—VQSafety Nigel Warrior told his defensive back teammates Saturday night in the locker room following the Vols loss to Florida to be in the complex on Sunday to watch tape as a defensive backs unit without the coaches. Other positions gathered on their own on Sunday to watch film, too, getting extra work in. The extra work doesn't mean the Vols are going to pull off the big upset Saturday or they have turned the corner. However, it is noteworthy that some players lead the extra work on their own and the commitment level was different to start this week.
