Wow we are terrible right now on O with a green coaching staff.

On O, we cant run block but are average on pass blocking. Only problem is JG holds on the ball too long and gets sacked or knocked down. Jordan is terrible at pass pro.

Why not put KC in at QB in shotgun, Chandler in at RB and call primarily quick passes, slants, inside seams, and the occasional long pass and use the passing to set up the run game?

This approach would seem to be working towards our strengths and personnel on O. Would give us a better chance against the SEC schedule.

Drawback here is extends the game and leaves our D on field longer.

Gotta find some way to go 3-1 here to get to a bowl game. Assuming no major injuries and young guys get better during the October gauntlet. Its not a stretch to go 3-1 here with an upset along the way. We need the bowl prep practices to get better.
We’re not going bowling but I might argue lifting and getting bigger is more important for this team than 15 practices.

I don’t think anyone is acting like Mullen has made some huge achievements after 4 games. But there were some on this board who all offseason talked about how awful UF was gonna be, and then the past 3 weeks talked about how Mullen has done terrible @ UF and is Butch 2.0, now acting like Mullen inherited a far superior team than Pruitt

Story of this board. I'm just trying to point out that posters are acting as if Mullen beating UT on Saturday is some kind of recognizable achievement after losing to UK the previous week. Both coaches inherited bad teams. One team showed up to play on Saturday. I don't think it's a huge stretch to say that the UF team looked worse than UT in the first 3 weeks. QB play was awful. But, that doesn't always matter when you play head-to-head, especially in a historically heated rivalry game. Lucky for Mullen, the other team decided to cough-up the football like it was their job, which made Franks' job pretty darn easy.

The defensive back room has been one of the many groups that has clearly lacked leadership through four games. Before the season, many hoped Nigel Warrior would be the guy that would step up and lead an inexperienced defensive back room. It may have taken four games to do so, but it appears that Warrior is beginning to take that step.

According to junior corner Baylen Buchanan, Warrior is the one who called up all of the defensive backs and put the film session together.

“I know the DBs after the game, we talked, and we said we were going to get in the film room and watch the game as a group,” Buchanan said. “And that’s what we did.”

Jmo but I think a lot (at least some) are just pointing out the complete spins each week by Mehlan haters. Like me, but I still think Florida struggles to make a bowl game

Yea and I think UF looked just as bad for the most part as UT. It looked like two terrible teams battling it out

We will know a lot more once they play Miss St this week.

Who is?

I’ve never seen people whine constantly about how soft a team is and then defend the coaching staff trying to be a physically dominating team that controls the TOP... Until now

We’re a soft, undersized team, nobody denies that. So why on earth do the same people justify trying to be a physical team up front? My goodness

Fans want a reason to justify not being good.

Someone would have to check all of the SEC East rosters, but I doubt we are undersized (at least on the OL). I think talent and experience are bigger issues at the line of scrimmage.

So..you think the staff is wrong for trying to force them to toughen up and do their freakin jobs...I disagree and I don't think there is a scheme out there that can work around this level of uselesness. Might as well just put your game in and make em learn to play it.

I agree we aren’t “undersized” just looking at the rosters, but when you look at teams like Uga, LSU, Auburn, Bama they look 100% different on the Oline. And Pruitt has stated he wants bigger guys up front

Do you think I'm calling you out?

I'm not.

To me, it's funny to see posts on here, TOS, etc. stating that we would be better had we hired Mullen. That's debatable, although a pointless debate. It is too early to tell.
I think it is stupid. I knew the worshippers of all things Mehlan would start this crap if he won this game.

UF was one of the most beatable SEC teams and the Vols got them early in the season when all but a few of our players were healthy and available. Playing UGA-Auburn-Bama is going to take a toll, physically and mentally. Needing a beat-up team to turn around and win 3/4 against SCAR, UK, Mizzou and Vandy puts us in the position we needed to avoid. This team is going to have to grow up and toughen up fast to make that happen. Would be amazing to see and would send a positive message to recruits, if they can find a way.

Coaches who can’t/don’t evolve get left in the dust. Even Saban let go of his offense and changed it completely lol

When you go 3-9, 5-7 because you’re playing to their weaknesses to “force them to toughen up” and “learn your system” have fun recruiting and dealing with the boosters calling for your head. You should stop complaining about how terrible we are because clearly this staff isn’t worried about this year

I think they are also handicapped by their inability to know how to scheme around those too. A seasoned, cagey veteran OC would know how to at least minimize your areas of weakness. Not conviced Helton knows how to do this, especially on the fly.

That’s fair. But i don’t think even [insert whatever name you want] aka anybody could have a great unit with our current roster on offense.
