Is this kid the best player on our team? I may be wrong but I can’t remember a time when he’s been beat all season. This is the type of player that we need to get back on top

Not offense op, but if he is the best player on the team at this stage of his young career, things are much worse than I want to imagine.

There’s a common theme with the players Pruitt has brought in...they’re all performing well unlike butchs players
The biggest issue imo is the fact that all the players that were here last year have to unlearn all of the bad technique before they can learn the proper way to play the game. These players, while practicing well without much mental strain, are then falling back on muscle memory when they are under the lights and the stress of winning or losing is on their shoulders. I don't know how the Pruitt regime will play out in the end, but I expect to see a ton of improvement in November.

We have freshman looking like the best players at different positions, which means 2 things—-1 we are awful right now & 2 these coaches know what kind of players will succeed in the sec so there is light at the end of the tunnel

I’ve always felt this way and us as fans just have to accept the lumps and bruises this team will endure along the way this year. It’s just like when learning a new golf swing; take tiger woods for example (at times in the round he will revert to old habits and it results in wayward shots) simple as that. In practice you can get away with bad habits and correct them and have redos but when it comes to game time it’s a different story

I hear you brother. I just hope the old doesn’t infect the new before the purge is complete. I’m all for CJP playing the young guys now at every feasible position and preparing for the future. Nothing to be gained by playing upperclassmen IF they don’t give their all. Get them their diplomas, thank them for their contribution and recruit like hell.

I agree, but at this point, I'm not sure any player can be categorized as the "best player on the team". Smith is obviously that guy, but not back to dominant form yet, and has had some critical penalties. Unfortunately, one guy doesn't make a team. Apparently, we've got a pretty good kicker.

Upper classman when engaged with a player getting absolutely whipped and Banks, a freshman, messing people up on blocks and runs... IMO that's just the difference between being physically/mentally soft and being hard nosed and tough..

About the only way to coach the softness out of some of these guys is to get rid of them.

think I read the other day that there are two games that he didn't play in because he didn't practice very well. so with that being said...no...he isn't the best player. coach will play the players that practice the best...he has said that many times.
