The whining fans

act exactly like the whining players and team they criticize ... the whining fans will just pick up their pads and leave if things don't go they way they want them to go. Pot calling kettle black if I ever saw it. They turn out to be just like what they say they despise.

Well, from what coach Pruitt just said it sounds like a REAL COACH to me trying to be honest with everyone. Didn't throw players under the bus nor did he the coaches BUT he did place the responsibility at everyones feet including him and his staff for Saturdays play.

I did not like the play calling at all but COACH PRUITT I AM BEHIND YOU 150 % ALL THE THE WAY. Fans we got us a great coach. It's going to be awhile but Pruitt is the one.

Sounded to me the heart and soul of the team came to his office to watch film and accept responsibility and try to PULL TOGETHER to improve. I think the fans should do the same.

If the core of the team moves in tandem then others will begin to follow. THANK YOU COACH PRUITT FOR TAKING ON THE TOUGH JOB OF COACHING THE TENNESSEE VOLS .
So, why you whining? And, yeah, he's throwing players under the bus, IMO.

Why dont people who arent happy just stop showing up?
It is going to happen. Sooner rather than later, I think. They will still fill the stadium but it will be with different fans who can wait another 10, 15 years, or whatever, for the Vols to return to some semblance of prominence.

I have listened to people who are close to the program and know football much better than I. The reports I keep herring are very good so I am going to continue to believe in this coach and staff. It just seems now that it will take longer than I with my orange colored glasses wanted to believe.
As long as they aren’t the same ones that leaked Gruden would be our next coach.

So you have to not only attend but have also played football to have a valid opinion of the game. Please tell me how your time playing for Nobody Gives a **** High makes you an expert.

I played back in 1980 for a little as a walk-on until I tore my knee.

I have no problem with people posting their opinions...I'm no expert but I do understand football...We do have us a coach so people give him time...

Good post, I wonder how many on here played SEC level sports, it would be interesting, but Im not trying to degrade those that didn't:)

There is no more reason to think that you are right than there is to think the person who wants to fire Pruitt and hire Fulmer is correct. You are jumping to conclusions just like the people you are criticizing. Hypocrisy is not a virtue.
Huh. Funny. Some of your "Like" buddies were already on my ignore list. Hypocrisy isn't an element in your formula. However, a sad bunch of losers' mentalities are what's rife within OP's thread...and I'm 100% in agreement with him. GBO!

While I am still going to give JP the benefit of a doubt and still support him, I understand how many of my fellow Vols feel. They are sick and tired of wasting their time and money time and time again to watch a piss poor team take the field. I totally get it.

No choice but to give him time, but this is the third time around where the same things are being said. Forgive folks for being a bit she'll shocked from the past 10 years +

I paid tuition. Bought clothes for years. Attended games (even while going 4-8). At some point I'm going to stop wasting money on it. UT is a cash cow, yet they repeatedly spit in our face and we just keep coming. Oh well, maybe we win another before I die, maybe not. At least I remember 98.

Did you ever go to a Tennessee game where as it turned out you enjoyed and cherished the moment you had with family and friends more than the game itself. I have and hope you also can experience the same.
Sounds like church, or maybe a family pic-nic. Saturdays are for UT football, and UT football is supposed to be about wins....

Yeah Ed you been whining tooooo. As I told Fred why don't you please call in to vol calls and give us your plan that is going to win out the rest of the year and please tell us who each player should be at each position.....now when things don't turn out as planned leave your phone # so all the whining fans can then call your house and start whining on you.....
Step 1: Recruited by Butch, bottom of depth chart.
Step 2: Repeat step one till none are left.
Step 3: Hire a real coach just one time. Not a bargain bin coach.

Dude lost his cool during the game. I understand all the "hot head" "bad temperament" quotes now. That's not a good look. Maybe he figures it out. This feels like Boom at UF... Without a 12 win season of course.

If you are talking about me I certainly did say the offensive play calling was terrible. That lays at Heltons feet. If it wasnt executed correctly when called then that lays at the players feet. But I absolutely back Pruitt. I think they know HE WANTS THEM TO WIN. i think the players who really loved football will love coach Pruitt and that goes for his recruits as well

Perdext execution results from perfect practice. Crappy execution is the result of crappy practice habits.

While I realize many here think coaching is simply about game day calls and outsmarting the coach on the other sideline, the truth is high level execution is the result intense repetitive practices. The demanding of the coaches to prep something not u til you get it right but until you cant get it wrong will make execution on game day something fans arenr even aware of because mistakes become the exception.

While I have never attended a Nick Saban practice session inwould bet there is a minimal amount of wasted time and a huge amount of reps.

I said all that to say this; execution is on the coaches as well.

Many times new coaches try to install scheme to the detriment of reps/execution and this will show up on game day. I would prefer a simple perfectly executed plan than a sloppy plan with tons of options. Especially early in the tenure of a staff.

One of Neylands maxims is that team with the fewest mistakes will win. High numbers of well coached reps in practice will result in wins when talent is remotely close.

Whiners beginning to thin out. We starting to see a glimmer of light. These players know Pruitt has their backs and wants the best for them. Its going to pay off. The Defensive line deserves some credit today. Tutle, Alexis, Taylor. and others.

Pruitt showed some emotion because his whole life is tied up in this. Its his job. He sees some improvement from his players because he talks to them and his coaches coaches them up and it shows....also a great ending as after the game the coaches stood around and congratulated the Georgia players. Sportsmanship on display after a loss and many others have taken notice....These coaches are great representatives for Tennessee. Well done

Oh yeah, not much whining about the O Line today either.. they are getting better as they play more as unit....

Player execution is not on coaching.

So you are the insider who has been on the sidelines watching all Tennessee practices...hum
Then of course JP has been here less than a year and hasn't really pulled any of his recruits yet and somehow he has Sabans talent or Urbies...

You play how you practice, and you practice how you are coached.

The staff is paid literal, millions of dollars, to put a product on the field that I'd commensurate to that investment.

It always ends with the coaches.

You are wrong. But opinion is noted. Tell me how Popes play was on coaches. Or the onsides kick fail. Or the dropped passes. Or the sacks. Why is it that some just dont want to blame players for their mistakes?
