Interesting comment from Ainge to open his show this morning

Until the Butch stain is washed from this team, it cannot be a rebuilding year. When all those guys are gone, and Pruitt has his type players and SEC type players then that's when the rebuilding process begins. He will need his full 6 years to do this sad for us fans who have been beaten down so long but whats another 6 years
intresting.

Swain had CDC on his show Friday, and he told a story from back in 97 or 98, where he and the coaches would take the team in to the mountains and for all the kids that weren't from the area or from the South, to get them all to under stand what "rocky top" really was all about. that they'd take them on runs thru the stadium, and up to the South Endzone so they could see the view from where fans sat, how they had to walk up all those stairs, just to come watc "you guys" play football. and that they've been doing it for many y ears before you got here, and they'll continue to do it years after you're gone.

to understand what it means to "give your all for Tennessee" and that while some of you may on to the NFL or bigger/better things after college, while you're here, this is why it's important to buy in to something bigger than you.

and CDC made the statement that he really hopes that's what it gets back to. so w/out saying it, i think he believes that's something that's been missing. obviously, he believes Fulmer brings that to the table. hopes Pruitt does. cause that's how it has to be here to be successful.

it was a good story.

It's not like we have a complete offensive line just waiting their turns. Freshmen or not.
I've said it before, it takes years to turn a high school boy into an SEC caliber offensive lineman. Late sophomore early Junior year before they are truly ready. That's if they have the talent and heart to begin with. Pretty much can be said for the D line. This downward spiral started with Dooley and Jones continued the cancer.

It's going to be awhile before this lack of talent and heart can be built.
Bull crap, freshman all over the country are doing great. Id rather have a player with fire than a.lazy player not dedicated to winning that thinks they earned their spot because they are an upperclassman. As far as ready to play....its pretty clear the upperclass oline isnt ready to play.

As long as we improve every year, I can wait. I'm old and don't have much time but I will wait.
Watching us suck out loud is really getting old.... With that being said I am with you. As long as I see some improvement year to year I can wait. I may be watching it from 6 ft under ground but I can wait.

I'm with you on that one. Might as well start the young kids and let them get on the job training along with their coaches.

Hey, wait, weren't we saying this exact same thing with freshman Dobbs et al about 5 or 6 years ago? Full circle?

This all day long. If this year is going to be painful, let’s at least get some freshmen some real game experience so next year is not as painful.

No volbama, it not bullshat. Please name all these freshman lineman we have on roster that are ready and healthy to play. At this point we're lucky to have enough hogs to have a line.

Yep. Trey Smith really wasn’t ready last year, wasn’t he? He was our best IL as a true freshman!

Who specified linemen? Please name an upperclass linemen we have ready to play?

Pruitt knew it was a snake when he picked it up. Or, he should have, everyone else did.
Either way the weight rests upon his shoulders not Butch's.
He's the Captain of this ship
Agree, but you can't blame CJP on the weather he inherited either

Yeah man, there are freshman all over the country making a difference. Put a guy like banks in, people.cant help but follow him.

I don't agree with most of your posts but this right here is the straight up truth. That kid plays hard and you can see it. Yeah he fumbled last week, but the kid was trying to make a play. That's what we need out there. This kid can be a leader for this team, he needs to be the top back up behind Chandler, even then I'd probably give Banks more carries than Chandler.

Exception to every rule. But what has he done so far this season. Picking up JG out of the dirt every now and then would be a good start.
Remember all those great lines Fulmer had? I think he had one freshman to start on the line. Cosey Coleman. You're familiar with that name correct? Most freshmen are just not physically strong enough. Just big ole fat boys

These kids don’t care. I learned that when JG Got hit dirty a few times and none of them helped him up or defended him. We won’t be good again until these cancerous players are gone. Butch infected them to the point of no return
Yup I saw that too. When your QB gets hit dirty you should take it as a personal offense as a O-Linemen. I don't even mind when a Llneman gets a PF call for defending his QB. Taylor Lewan is a perfect example lol.

I truly feel sorry for JG. How can the kid gain any confidence when the guys around him aren't willing to go to war for him.

Trey was the only one around him and he had just gotten a penalty. I am sure he didn't want to get another. He also probably didn't see it happen. Was it a dirty hit? Yeah super dirty. If I am not mistaken wasn't the penalty on Trey a 15 yard personal foul? Pretty sure they get tossed if they get another right?

Heath Shuler said he once ran a play 5 times in practice. On each play they scored. After each play CDC was screaming at them because some little thing was wrong. An o lineman was lined up 6 inches too far, Heath threw it to a guy that was covered and missed a wide open WR, etc. It wasn't good enough to score, it needed to be perfect in practice or it wouldn't work on Sat. You couldn't just do your job, you had to do it with pride.

“These young players don’t know what they don’t know yet. And the older players on this team aren’t going to learn it here, at this stage in their life development. It’s really sad. When you slap that sign that says ‘I will give my all for Tennessee today,’ it either, to every fiber of your being, matters to you, or it doesn’t. I think there’s a lot of guys on this team that have been here for a few years that they may not even slap that sign when they go to run out though the T. And that is the single most disheartening thing from the whole weekend.”
Couldn't agree more.

yeah,i don't think enough people know what kind of disciplinarian and hard azz Cut really was. he comes off as kinda po dunk. but that guy has a standard of how he wants things done, period.

Recruiting services whiffed on the heart rankings.
Guys stop being so impatient!! You can’t win championships every year... just enjoy the fact that only 2 years ago we won the champions of life!!! Weird though usually they make a DVD for the culmination of a championship season and I’ve still yet to see that DVD drop.
