Sorry but no.
I am a big Pruitt fan and I believe he will get it done here. While he isnt proven as a HC, he has the best resume to become one in the SEC, I think. Right now this level of epic suck is on the players. The raw talent was there but Butch and our administrative fiasco ruined them, perhaps beyond what coaching can fix in the time given.
That said, Pruitt, Helton, Friend and Sherrer - all of them are first time in their positions and learning on the jobs as well. You figure that gives them about an extra year to adjust, thats it in this league. Otherwise, they normally would get 3 years. Reality is, if there is not MASSIVE improvement by year 3, then we arent getting it done. That doesnt mean winning SECE, even, it just means that we can see all the awesome new talent being brought in is being coached up and that there is fight in them. By year 5, this program should be STACKED with quality players who are WELL COACHED on fundamentals and game day calls are solid. If not, then Pruitt is not the guy.
It may take 8-10 years to get rid of battered Vol syndrome in our fanbase but 3-5 years is all it should take to turn a program around. Not in a program with the resources we have and with Fulmer at the helm. No way.
