This is all very obvious to me. I don’t see how anyone could argue against it.
Let you in on a little something, whenever you use quotation marks, you're indicating someone said what you're repeating. If they never said it, it's not a quote. With that being said, do I think our players "suck"? Yes, many of them, to the point they cannot execute WHATEVER is called.
Do I think the playcalling is perfect? Nowhere near it. Actually, it's quite puzzling sometimes, I admit...along with personnel choices. Yes, coaches have to get better, as well. But last night, playcalling and coaching is so far down on the list of what went wrong, we should get to it around Wednesday or Thursday, after discussing EVERYTHING ELSE that led to the loss. MANY calls were made last night to be in that game, and win it, they just weren't executed properly, disasterously even. SIX TURNOVERS! THAT'S why we lost last night in embarrassing fashion. I don't care if it's Alabama, they give the ball up SIX TIMES, they're getting trucked, as well.
Bad, terrible, disappointing OL, TE, and H Back play, THAT'S why we lost last night. Couldn't run, couldn't protect QB...recipe for disaster, period
This whole thing is about being outcoached. Yes, they outcoached us in the sense that they got the win. But, our coaching and their coaching is about #25 on the list of how they got the win.
To end, whatever was said about Kiffin, Dooley, or Butch was said by someone other than me. I joined VN now that Jeremy Pruitt has taken over, all because, yes, imo HE IS THE GUY to get us back. I'm giving ALL THE ROOM HE NEEDS to do it. Does he have to be better? Absolutely. Does Helton have to be better? Absolutely. They will be. Pruitt, just like every HC, past, present and future, is learning how to be one.
This team can be summed up by the old saying, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks". As good as I think Pruitt is, and will be...I was wrong in thinking him and the others are miracle workers.
If my memory serves, he was a yard deep when he caught it. Absolutely, you bring that out, period...only an idiot would coach anything different. How about instructing him not to bring it out? How about choosing him as the one to receive the ko?
Other coaches take over programs and improve them. This staff is not, yet. Yes, many of the turnovers were directly attributal to coaching decisions.
And by the way, I know what quotation marks mean. This is a message board not a term paper. Get over it.
Agree with you about Jordan. I’m over him. Chandler is dynamic. Banks is that dude. London is solidWhat i would like to see against UGA:
LT- Richmond
LG- Smith
C- R. Johnson
RG- Carvin
RT- J. Johnson
Stick with this OL and go with it. It will give us at least a little push on the interior. Should be able to run a little on the left side.
RBs:
Stick with London and Chandler as your features. London has been our best in pass pro but chandler is most dynamic. Bring in banks for about 8-10 touches. Don’t care to see Jordan anymore.
WR/TEs: not many complaints out of this group. Probably need to keep DWA beside one of our tackles. Do a lot of chip and flair routes. We could use our TEs as more of a dump off or safety blanket. I would like to see Jennings in the slot more working underneath more instead of Johnson. Jennings could easily get 8 catches a game working underneath from the slot.
QB: i think JG has done ok this year. He’s took a beating, most of it not his fault but some of it is from holding the ball and not moving as much within the pocket. JG is also banged up.
So, I would give Chryst a shot to see if his internal clock is a little faster and can check us in to a little better play occasionally based off experience. Get the ball out quicker, roll the pocket more. Less outside screens, more tunnel screens and mid screens.
I know we’re probably not going to win regardless but i think of we do some of these things it could give us a could foundation to build off of heading into our bye week.
Arguably the first two. Pope’s wasn’t. Shamburger’s wasn’t.
The safety wasn’t a great call either.
Where did I say they were great HCs and DCs?
Never said he was a great HC, never said Sherrer was a great DC, but they are some of the best coaches in the country. Have won everywhere they have been, and every head coach started somewhere.
Helton on the other hand, the jury is still out but he has had some offenses that put up great numbers.
The safety was a dive play. You never try to bounce outside at your own goaline.
I don’t think JG never being able to feel backside pressure or moving in the pocket is directly related to coaching. It’s sometbkng he’s struggled with all year.
What was the 2nd turnover again?
No you don't automatically bring that out. That's asinine. Many dont bring kicks out that are in the endzone. He brought out several and didn't make the 20.If my memory serves, he was a yard deep when he caught it. Absolutely, you bring that out, period...only an idiot would coach anything different.
Should we put someone like Marquez Calloway back there? Wait a minute, he muffed a punt last week, so...
You put who you believe gives the best chance at success. If they don't execute, it's in them.
Are you not aware of the new rule change? He muffed it at the one, picked it up, and ran. This year the player can signal a touchback anywhere inside the 25 and the ball comes out to the 25. After he muffed it there was no way he was going to get anywhere near the 25. He 100% should have signaled a touchback. If my memory serves, he was a yard deep when he caught it. Absolutely, you bring that out, period...only an idiot would coach anything different.

You would need more than one Brinks truck to very someone like that. And I honestly I'm starting to lean towards the argument of no one wants to come here. There is a portion of the fan base that would fire Pruitt after that lose. Seriously?!?! It blows my mind how some people can't see what terrible shape the program is in. It's like we hired someone to play a round of golf and expecting then to shoot a great score but they can only tee off with a putter. Offensive play calling. Yes I understand the criticism too some degree. I don't understand why its four weeks into a bare cupboard season and people are questioning his abilities. We didn’t go the Brinks model with the head coach...a coach that knows how to build a program.
The pass int that JG threw while wasn't directly it was a result of poor play calling on 1st and second down. The failure to tell sham to take a knee on the kickoff despite his failures to get any meaningful yardage to that point. Handing the ball off 6 yards deep in the end zone when with an online that can't help but give up the Los on about every play to a back who is notorious for dancing in the hole.Which turnovers were directly attributed to coaching?
The really strong gusting wind had a little something to do with that. Also I was referring to not carrying the ball high and tight and it getting knocked loose on a tackle. Your example isn't relevant.Didn't Marquez Calloway muff a punt last week? And that's what he is on scholarship for, to literally CATCH THE FOOTBALL. Maybe we should question that decision, too?
Nothing to realize, just because BruinVol says there is. I disagree with you, because I believe you to be wrong. That's what I realize. There were some nice decisions that could have should have worked.
However the bottom line if they had worked we still would have lost because they were few and far between as we were out coached.
I hope you realize it's easier to say Pruitt got his ass handed to him and he can and will better than he didn't get outcoached at all.
We turned the ball over 6 times, in CRUCIAL, TERRIBLE places, and you're stressing coaching as the reason why we got blown out...and I'M being the ridiculous one?! Whatever makes you feel better, bro.Never said he did. You are being ridiculous with this. Of course the players made mistakes. But it’s also the coach’s job to put them in positions to succeed and exploit the other team’s weaknesses. The offensive staff did not do that. Turnovers can be a result of down and distance. I believe the first two were on third down, and the Pope play was good by we were forced to go on 4th down.
First 6 series: 3rd and 5 (1st down); 3rd and 7 (INT); 3rd and 23 (INT after two JG runs); 3rd and 7 (1st down); 3rd and 12 (8 yards); 4th and 4 (turnover on downs); 3rd and 6 (FG); 2nd and 10 (safety); 3rd and 1 ( toss sweep to London); 4th and 1 (great call to Pope)
That’s just not a recipe for success.
