And in doing so they've attempted to tarnish his reputation.

Maybe this happened, but maybe it didn't. No proof exists. Just an accusation. And let's not pretend truth is what is being sought. Dems are not looking for truth. It's a purely political attempt to subvert the system.

Yes, people usually want an FBI investigation when they don't care about the truth. Given that lying to the FBI is a felony, I doubt they're calling in the FBI if they don't care about the truth.

So why would they break in favor of the Republicans if it's just viewed as "something political." Don't both sides have the argument that the other side is engaging in politics? The Dems say the Republicans are trying to ram this through so they can get him confirmed before they potentially lose the senate; the Republicans say the Dems are stalling this in the hopes of taking back the senate and blocking the confirmation.

I don't think anybody will necessarily break Republican. I DO think it will provide the GOP with something to fundraise off of and motivate the base to show up and hold onto the Senate.

Don't play stupid. You know full well that's just another excuse to delay confirmation hearings. I know your persona on here requires you be a partisan hack, but please tell me you're intelligent enough to see this for what it is.

If she were to give the same details to the FBI that she's given to DiFi and the Washington Post, how would they go about proving them true or false? While lying to the FBI is a felony, they are tasked with proving that the individual lied. As a lawyer, I'm sure you understand that failing to provide sufficient evidence does not mean that one lied.

They’ve had 10 weeks to investigate this guy, ask questions, present these accusations, etc. I hardly think this constitutes “ramming him through”.

I don’t think the democrats can take a chance to nominate a male SCJ for at least the next generation.

On the other hand they've also had this info on Dr. Ford for about 6 weeks. So they've also had time to check this story out. But they'll say this is too fast and the lemmings all agree in unison.

It is. Anyone with an iota of common sense can see the Dems have orchestrated this to delay the confirmation. Whether or not the accusation is true is secondary. They are not seeking truth.

Took the FBI all of three days to do the investigation of Thomas in response to Anita Hill's concerns.

What impact does an investigation have on whatever Dr. Ford might recount about the incident?

Until she actually makes a specific accusation and offers some details, this is the political equivalent of asking "Do you still beat your wife?"

I already tried this line - got nothing. If Ford is just going to tell the truth in the hearing then what the FBI finds is irrelevant to her ability to do so.

And if the FBI were to investigate and find nothing the Dems would still cry foul. Hell, they continued the optics with Biden coming out today and apologizing to Anita Hill for not taking her more seriously. Guess that 3 day FBI investigation wasn't good enough for old Joe.

Just admit the truth.
