I think its probably a toss up. They are trash

Offense is miserable and has no identity, defense is soft up the middle and thin in the secondary. They just aren’t a good team. Unfortunately, we aren’t either at this point.
I think their lines are as bad or worse than ours and our skill guys and secondary are better than theirs. I also think jg is considerably better than Frank's.

I've thought the same thing. Seems like more often than not the OL isn't getting whipped more missed assignments. Not sure if it's a scheme change that's been hard for them to pick up on or what. Hopefully it comes together soon.
I have seen the opposite. More OL failures have been missed assignments than getting whipped with a hat on a hat.

I think they are a lot like us on offense. Good skill guys but struggle on the OL. Franks makes a lot more mistakes than JG, could end up being the difference in this pillow fight of a game

I think we actually have an advantage on the DL. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by that position group thus far.

Ah, my little prodigal. You're going to deny the truth I bring you on this one just like you did with Jones. It's okay.
What if Florida messes it up and loses? Is losing to UGA going to convey the same “truth”? And it took five years for whatever you were diarrheaing out there to become true and only after Butch refused to learn how to adapt. It wasn’t preordained...it was noise. Your declaration of Kelly as a home run has sputtered but that could turn around...if HE does. That’s called a discussion. You fail because you’re arrogant with a sports god complex. There’s nothing special about you. Recognize that and you might enjoy being part of a board with us regular humans.

This is exactly where I'm at. I really have no idea who wins this game, but I'll be there screaming as loud as I possibly can. I'm hoping the Neyland advantage will squeak this one out for the good guys.

How committed are we to running the football?

Georgia was very run heavy against SC in Columbia as was Kentucky against Florida in the swamp.

Interesting matchups from a run/pass balance view this weekend with MSU at KY and GA at MO. A&M may have to go to the pass more at Bama and AU at home will face about the only thing that so far looks decent with AR in their run defense.

OM only had 22 passes against Bama? Can you say - we're trying to run out the clock? OM strategy - Victory Surrender formation.

So far this year Florida hasn't had a lot of success with their run defense outside of CSU but CSU doesn't have much of a run offense, gaining 116 yds on 25 carries vs Hawaii, 103 yds against Colorado on 39 carries, 40 yds on 23 carries against Arkansas, and 70 yds on 42 carries against the gators. I won't be surprised if the running game decides the outcome of the game this week and if we stay healthy through Saturday night this could be our edge. jmo.

UGA has a stable of some of the best backs in the country. Their OL is very good as well. They can run against most teams.

UK has a decent OL and have had the luxury of consistency. They also have Benny Snell. They can run on most teams in the country if they want, especially with their QB (Wilson) who teams have to account for.

UT does not have any of the above. We have some solid RBs. We have talent on the OL. UT has to put it all together and have a good day to run at will against UF.

Went back this evening and rewatched the UTEP game with an eye on the LOS. DL seems like we've actually got some decent depth an options.

On the OL one of the big things that stuck out to me was how badly Jamir struggled. Dude plays really aggressive all the way up to the whistle, but had wayyy too many whiffs. A handful of our plays that went for 0 yards or no gain can be placed squarely on his shoulders. I thought Locklear looked a lot better when he was in. He had a couple nice blocks that sprung some RBs and seemed a lot more consistent in being able to stick with guys when he got his hands on them.

I never rewatched the ETSU game, but did anybody else notice the same thing regarding Locklear and Jamir? Seems like a bit of a head scratcher as to why Jamir is the guy they've gone with thus far. He's more athletic than Locklear, I guess and probably better when they want to pull the OG, but he hasn't held up very well against DTs thus far this season. Locklear may have less upside long term, but he seems like the more solid OG at this point. I wonder if we'll see a change there going into SEC play.

I think it will be a very close game.

Couple thoughts.

- As with most QB's Franks likes to flush to his right when in trouble. He is extremely inaccurate passing and makes bone head decisions when pressured to his left. Keep him from rolling right.

- Don't give up any cheap plays in punt coverage. Don't out kick your coverage.

- Their DB's and LB's are very limited. Great match up opportunities for quick passing for JG.

- Crowd noise will be huge, I think Franks will get very frustrated.

- Stop the run and you win. Gators game plan will be run, run and run some more. Mullen loves to throw to the RB out of the backfield. UTEP had a RB wide open for a TD out of backfield last week if he hadn't dropped it.

We just had a 4-8 season but we keep coming back for more. Our fans are anything but fair weather. Weather has sucked since 2007.
I’m not denying that by any means. And I’m not saying Florida has fair weather fans. I just don’t think we’d sell out our allotment to go down there either. It’s a tough drive for both programs - especially when you think you’re team might get beat and have to scrap for a bowl game.

Frank is as big of a fan as any of us, but he just owns the site. No points will be scored. I did hear through a friend of a friend he was taking some of his VN cash and making a large donation to some of the refs. TIFWIW.
Lol, I meant the UF qb, but solid response

Yes Jamir has been that way all season. He has the attitude you want in an offensive lineman but he leans too much when attacking the DT. Any experienced DT will pull the G right off when the G is off balanced like that. Locklear does look better technical wise but I don't think he has that attitude the coaches want yet. IMO when he gets that attitude (if he gets that attitude) then he'll take over. Until then Jamir needs to get his technique down because Locklear is breathing down his neck for snaps.
