Josh Dobbs (merged)

Never say never. I'm sure people said Brady wouldn't make it in the league before winning 5 super bowls.

In this case you can say never. D4H said Dobbs will be the greatest football player of all time. Sorry but that's not happening. Its just not.

Its funny. Two years ago it was he'll never be drafted. One year ago it was he'll never play a game in the NFL. Now its he won't reach the heights I've set for him.

How far will you move the goal posts next?

I'm guessing in about 5 months when Dobbs is holding up the Lombardi Trophy as a Super Bowl winning starting QB, you'll be saying Dobbs might be a Hall of Famer but not the GOAT.

Keep pushing those goal posts back.

Come on man, you're no one to talk about about moving goal posts.

You've pushed back when Dobbs was going to take off at least once already (2017) and you've already started laying the groundwork for pushing when he takes off until next season. Everyone here knows if he ends up not playing at all or much this season, you're going to say 2019 will be the year.

Whoawhoawhoa...did YOU just accuse somebody of moving the goal posts? Nobody, and I mean NOOOOOBODY moves goal posts/kicks the can down the road like you do man.

Look, just keeping with the Dobbs timeline (there's not time to even scratch the surface with all your examples) how many have actually come close to happening as you predicted? Never sniffed the Heisman. Never even close to being drafted in the 1st round. (Remember you saying he was more likely to be drafted in the first round than the fourth? Good times) Now you're trying to take credit for him having to ride making the roster to the final hour? That bear ANY resemblance to what you're on record predicting to this point? Keep kicking the can down the road about what hasn't happened yet (at this point it's literally the majority of all you posts) but do not try to sell your predictions as having done anything more than cling by their fingernails vs reality to this point.

Well, GOAT depends a person's opinion but he could be one of the greats. Never know. D4H is a little outlandish but Dobbs is a fighter and always seems to step up a notch. We'll see.. it'll he fun to watch what happens. Especially if Big Ben gets hurt.. which at this point in his career is a 50/50 chance.

Ya think?

I've been pretty consistent in telling ya'll that I know how Dobbs story ends (as a Hall of Famer), I never said I knew how the journey would go. I evaluate talent. I'm not a predictor of the exact future. When I give ya'll a timeline of Dobbs success story, those are just my best guesses.

Josh Dobbs is the most talented QB I have ever seen. Its that simple reason why I have predicted such greatness for him.

If he doesn't accomplish the goals I've set out for him, then I will admit I was wrong about his talent level. Thus far I've seen NOTHING to tell me he won't be exactly what I have said he will be. A future Hall of Famer who wins at least 4 Super Bowls and by the end of his career is regarded by many of the GOAT. Similar to how Gretzky and Jordan are considered the GOAT in their respective sports.

So, are we to take this as a challenge to start posting quotes of you saying EXACTLY what you thought you thought would happen and when? In fact, and I want you to just spitball this, what percentage of your posts consist of basically you playing at being a predictor of the future?

Those are called educated guesses. All I have ever said I know for sure is talent evaluation. Never said I was Ms Cleo.

With that said, according to my research, this is the most likely year for Dobbs to break out. Year 2 is typically when all-time great athletes turn into superstars. That's why I have been predicting greatness for Dobbs this season. Because this is the most likely year for him to breakout.

You’ve repeatedly said exactly how the journey would go.

RIP D4H.

Really happy for Dobbs. I admit to doubting him at times. Don't know what you've got until it's gone type of deal. Regardless of anything else I can't think of anybody who showed more class or represented the school as well as he did in my 25 years of being a fan. I hope more good things keep coming his way.

Reactions: Dobbs 4 Heisman
Ben Roethlisberger: Josh Dobbs needs to be as valuable off the field as Landry Jones
“I told him, ‘You need to prove to everybody that you deserve to be here,'” Roethlisberger said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I’m not talking about on the field. He’s proven that. … But what he needs to do is prove he’s as valuable as Landry was off the field — in terms of film study, when I have a question [and him] having a good answer for me. When I come off the field after the play, ‘Hey, what did you see here?’ and he can give me an answer. That’s where he really needs to step up. He’s all for it. He said, ‘Ben, I’ll give you everything I can,’ and I trust that he will.”

Does anyone really think that Roethlisberger has anything to be worried about?

No Leveon Bell for the Steelers this week. Its raining in Cleveland. Rely on the run game... will we see Dobbs running the ball? He's got those happy feet.

3 picks by Big Ben today against the winless Browns. He's garbage now.

Dobbs should take over the starting job soon.
Lol. Ben has thrown picks his entire career. He may not be what he was 5 years ago but he is still light years beyond what Dobbs can bring at this point in time.

Not true. Dobbs is much better than him now. Big Ben is like Peyton in 2015. He's done. Just watch the Steelers lose next week to the Chiefs and Big Ben struggles once again.

I know it'll take an injury for Dobbs to get a shot but once that happens Dobbs will look a lot better than Big Ben and take over as the starter for the rest of the season.
