I think Pruitt is the man and he will bring this program back from the dead. He is the first coach I’ve said that about since Fulmer. He has that Saban no nonsense swaggger and he actually knows football and what he wants.

Although I agree if this thing gets turned around and Bama comes calling post Saban he is gone. But I’m good with it. Hopefully Fulmer is still on charge and the program will be in such shape that a can’t miss coach with experience and championship pedigree takes the reigns and keeps it going. The days of budget hires and car salesman will be over.

He’s definitely got a long way to go. Honestly I didn’t think he looked much better than Franks has for UF thus far.

I’m interested in seeing how much time they give Chryst next week. Chryst doesn’t have much of an arm, but I wonder if he can get through his progressions more quickly. His ability to run might add a bit of a new dimension to things as well.

If going through progressions quickly is what you’re looking for you haven’t found that in Chryst’s sampling thus far. Right off the snap you knew he was going to DWA and on the touchdown he looked Murphy down the whole way on the double move. I didn’t see his third so I can’t judge on that one.

JG may have looked a little slower but some of those are on deeper route schemes which will take a little bit longer to develop and the o-line has to give him time for those to develop. The sack we gave up is a good example of that where the end got to JG in 2.8 seconds and it did appear that he waited a little long for the play to develop.

As they work more in the offense and the o-line gels I would expect things to start to develop quicker.

Not worried that Pruitt isn’t a salesman/puppet. Fulmer can sell the university just fine as a cheerleader AD. Pruitt is 100% focused on winning ball games.

The consensus is that the 2018 team’s biggest problems right now are the OL and getting pass rush on D. Well have a look at our recruiting class for next year boys. Pruitt knows where we are lacking the most and he is fixing it with big boys next year.

We’re in good hands.

I think Pruitt is gonna get this thing turned around quick.

9-10 wins next year and a top 5ish class.
I’m optimistic as well. To me it’ll all depend how much the offensive line improves over the course of the season. I’m confident the defense will be good enough next season and our skill position players on offense are good enough as well.

We don't have any more ambassador-coaches like Fulmer and Pat Summitt waiting in the wings. It's no accident that UT was at its best when people like that ran our programs. Their level of total dedication and commitment comes from the heart. It's hard to find and can't be bought.

Pruitt to Bama discussion is the same as the Dooley to UGA and Butch to Michigan discussions.

Gotta win really big at UT to get those opportunities. So if we are legitimately worried about that in a few years we will all be very happy.

I have a sneaking suspicion the OL comes together over the next few games and plays well for the rest of the year. The issues seem to be missed assignments more so than lack of size / talent.

The DL and lack of a pass rush worries me... seeing Gooden play well gives me some hope though.

Yep. It’s not guaranteed of course, but out of all of our previous coaches after Fulmer, I think CJP has the best pedigree to get it done.

Bro, I couldn't care less what you or anyone else thinks about my opinion or why you come to this site. I don't care about likes despite what you think. I was the same poster before likes arrived and I'd be the same if they disappeared today. I come to this site because I'm an alum and FAN of Tennessee and Freak created this wonderful forum.

I care about the likes. I'm a like collector. I actually listed on my resume my current like count.

Target manager was all like "It says here you have 10,224 Volnation 'likes.' Can I ask what that means?"

I tried to explain it but he just wasn't understanding. He must be from Florida.

Also, I come to this site because the FF is an embarrassment. The VQ forums are bad because too many members there act like every fleeting thought deserves its own thread. Although currently there is a riveting thread about pooping at Neyland Stadium.

You’d defend it if he took a **** on the desk and used Bob’s tie to wipe. Your allegiance lies with the program, which is great, but your opinion of what you “love” in a football coach is totally fluid depending on who the guy in charge is that day/month/week/year.
I LOL'd about the wiping with Bob's tie.

Good counterpoints.
