Moving forward, the Vols have 20 commits. They’ll take 25, but I expect more than five new prospects to join the class, so the current numbers will change as the fall unfolds.
Tennessee has a number of guys it would like to flip, headlined by 4-star linebacker
Owen Pappoe. The Auburn commit will take an OV here for the Florida game. That’s another monster visitor now scheduled to be in attendance on Sept. 22. The Tigers continue to push for 5-star OT commit
Wanya Morris, with the Grayson standout likely to take his OV there the weekend of the Tennessee-AU game. It is notable, however, that Morris’ best friend and high school teammate
Jakai Clark recently decommitted from AU.
Other flip targets for Tennessee include
Charles Moore (Mississippi State), J
avonta Payton (Ole Miss) and
Elijah Blades (Oregon) and a few others.
As for Saturday, Tennessee should have several commits in the house, including many of the Georgia guys. Another Peach State product set to visit is 2021 quarterback
Brock Vandargriff. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect from Prince Avenue Christian (Ga.) is already considered one of the top prospects in the sophomore class. He has ties to Tennessee and offers already from Georgia, Auburn, Miami, Michigan and others.
