I agree with this. Also doesn’t make the kid a loser like Bruin said. For somebody that rides his moral high horse all the time that sure was a classless comment.
Can't get a 6th year because the first RS wasn't medical.Doubt he wants to stay in school for two more seasons after this. That's multiple grad degrees. But if he wants to, two season-ending injuries means he can apply for a waiver for a sixth year.

A player can petition for the NCAA to extend the five-year clock if circumstances beyond the player’s control cost him more than one season of competition. Two season-ending injuries means he could petition for a triple-redshirt. It might not be granted and he probably won't want one, but there's a path.
