Some of us knew. Others chose to eat up the hype spewed by VQ and at times 247. Happens just about every year.
I also want to point out that I don’t believe that story Basilio put out there about Pruitt guaranteeing a win to big boosters. That was a shot in the dark for some clicks.
I like him too. And by no means are giving up on him. But, he's the 4th coach in a row that was probably not ready for a job this big. Let's hope the 4th ti e is the charm.
As down in the dumps as you’ve been the past couple of days it’s nice to see you’re still not afraid to point out how much more ridiculous some people’s reactions have been. Here is example#1 that what I said the other night about the lynch mob Fahr Pruitt mentality being a danger is true...
Here we have a good, normally posi-only poster already expressing serious doubt that Pruitt can do the job.."Not ready for a job this big"
One game in..And here we go.
WVU averaged 34 PPG and 459 yards per game on 72 plays. Bama averaged 444 yards and 37 points on 67 plays. One played in the SEC West and the other the B12. And now Tua is finally the starter. Hurts was not very good last year and they still put up crazy numbers, this is the best offense Bama has ever had with Saban.

I just can't believe some people here thought that our true freshman secondary was about to give the business to an All-american WR, All-american QB, and another WR with more catches last season than our entire WR roster(!) 97 to 92.
Now, we're ready to write off the entire secondary. The truth is, they will get better every single game with more experience. Yes, they guys who have been here have probably reached their general ceilings, but Pruitt has now seen that face to face, and will at the very least, get some young players in there to take their lumps, and then improve.
I can tell you one thing. That performance was the bottom for this secondary, and they are nothing but moving upwards from here on out.
Agreed, this unit will be the strength of the defense by the end of the year.
Eh idk he was dealt a really, really poor hand as far as the defensive roster he was left. The offense should be able to pick up where they left off next year, but the defense will be losing a huge chunk of contributors in the front 7.If Pruitt doesn't win 8 next year, I don't think he's the guy, imo
This is so true...I knew it was coming, I knew it would take more than a few practices to fix this mess, but still in my heart I wanted to believe the inflators were right and I was wrong. I am really disappointed that SOME guys are still flopping around spastically trying to tackle, and playing pansy ball. I was hoping they would play tougher and more disciplined..It’s easy to rationalize a 6-6 season before it starts. It’s hard to watch it actually unfold.
Where did I say I was ready to fire Pruitt? I simply pointed out that CJP has no head coaching experience and it's tough to get that at school like TN. When you hire unproven coaches the risk of failure is greater. I can't back this up with statistics, maybe Chatt can help us out here but I'd say based on statistics alone, he's more likely to fail than be successful. All I've done is point out that because of his lack of head coaching experience we don't know what to expect. Here is example#1 that what I said the other night about the lynch mob Fahr Pruitt mentality being a danger is true...

Some good points there, I based that statement assuming we show improvement over the course of this season, hopefully resulting in at least 6 wins this year.Eh idk he was dealt a really, really poor hand as far as the defensive roster he was left. The offense should be able to pick up where they left off next year, but the defense will be losing a huge chunk of contributors in the front 7.
And very few of the guys Butch and Shoop brought in in 2017 seem to match their ranking or fit into our new defense. IMO it’s gonna be year 3 before we can expect to see Pruitt finally put the kind of defense everybody wants to see in th field.
After watching most of their game, I tend to agree, best bama O Saban has fielded it looks like. Tua making pretty big difference in their ability to scheme to whatever they need.
