UT fans this is for all of you. For the past few years we have been mediocre to pretty good to down right awful. Pruitt knows what SEC players looks like. We are loaded with undeveloped talent. So after one lousy game the big % of comments are from those of you whom expected 9 or 10 wins or bust. You see the players he is recruiting. You see the players that has interest in UT. All because of JP. This is his first head coaching gig. If you cant see the difference after his post game presser to what we had last year then your delusional. Man I love our Vols. I watched yesterday to see our system. I was very impressed with what I saw. I also noticed that it's going to take more that fall practice to learn it all. I think with a few more horses in our recruiting classes coach JP will have us back to the Fulmer years. We will look like an SEC team again. And also I think before the season is over we win one we shouldn't. Go Vols. Trust the process.

I think folks are going be mad for a while because this team won't be dominant or competitive for that matter. The players that we have are simply not good. UT just doesn't have the athletes to hang. This will be a true test for Pruitt who is used to having excellent athletes who can make plays.

I appreciate your insight, you saw something that I obviously missed yesterday, cheers Vol fans:)

I'm loyal to the Tennessee Volunteers, not Pruitt.

If he isn't the right man for the job after year 2 or 3, it's time to go.
Although I'm still in the "Pruitt will turn out to be a good hire" camp I agree 100% with your point. If it turns out he's not the man for the job it will be plain as day before 3 years is up. But let's give the man a little time and space and see what he can do.

My opinion is that after the 3rd year if we are not in contention for the SEC championship we need to move on. Not necessarily winning it but in it. But then again my opinion do sent mean much, lol.

Every head coach should get at least 3 years if you think it was tough for Tennessee getting a head coach in December see what happens if Tennessee fired Coach Pruitt after 2 seasons. Tennessee would be hiring a D2,D3,NAIA or High School head coach because anybody worth anything will have nothing to do with Tennessee.

Wow, you all have already turned on Pruitt? You told us all that he was the best coach ever. Who knows? maybe he will be. He needs to be given the chance. He did a pitiful job prepping the boys for the WV game. If we are truly as bad as we played yesterday, another 4-8 season is coming. It is not enjoyable watching us field an inept, incapable, non-competitive team week after week. If it is no longer enjoyable, people will find something else to do.

The vocal minority is against Coach Pruitt. I'm on the side of Coach Pruitt and want him to stay.

I saw an OLine that started out very bad start protecting and opening holes. I saw wide receivers make plays. I saw three true freshmen start against a very talented group of receivers that held their own in the first half. They learned so.e hard lessons yes. But they battled. I saw play calling that wasnt the same recycled crap Butch ran every game. You could predict what play was coming last season before they ran it. I saw a team that didnt lay down like they did last season. I think we get better with every game. And those three true freshmen will be around for three more seasons. But most of all I say a coach play guys Butch never would have. That says a lot to potential recruits. If your the best player you will play. And the post game presser was a coach taking responsibility for what happened. Not blaming the players or someone else for his bad coaching. That's what is encouraging. These guys will get coached this season.

Loyality does not imply that you must like the results. Basically, the UT team had have some highlights, but did not meet my expectations. I expected to be competitive, like in the 2nd quarter. Maybe a win, but I expected <10 pt game.

The thing that encouraged me, was the fact that we saw a coaching staff make adjustments. Last few years we didn't see that at all. Were they always the right adjustments probably not but they kept trying to adjust and make things work. I believe this will be a very good staff when everything gels and the systems become second nature to the players. How long will that take no one knows but I believe its coming sooner rather than later.

I will remain a Vol fan. But it’s disheartening to be the only SEC team with a loss in the first week. Yes, I realize we didn’t play Podunk State.
