Can still judge the coaching and see enough.
I agree. It's gonna be baby steps though imo. You and I've been here a long time. We've seen this exact scenario with Dooley and Butch. There are no guarantees. I have hope we'll see those improvements. I've grown skeptical with each hire. I just don't think it's wise to keep gambling with unproven coaches. Just looking at it from a numbers standpoint, the odds are stacked against Coach Pruitt. Hopefully our gamble pays off this time, too early to tell.

The sad part is even if we would have dropped the brinks truck on a coach we still couldn’t have landed a proven coach. We are where we are, and it is what it is.

Saw some good things yesterday. Also saw a lot of mistakes. Grier and those receivers were too much for our young secondary. They played hard for four quarters though and we have good coaches so I am hopeful they will look much better by the time we get to UF.

We are becoming the school that coaches come to die. I still don't think the administration is serious about winning. If you look at the money side, from a strictly business point of view, there is no reason to invest a lot of money into the program.

I think we're going to be in for a worse year than what even I predicted. Going to have a really hard time making a bowl IMO. As I said all off season, there are going to be growing pains with new schemes on both sides, first time head coach and first time coordinators. Players who haven't been developed over their entire careers don't make a 180 in one off season. Maybe folks will accept that now.

You’re right man. I like Pruitt though, he’s a solid coach and human being

I like him too. And by no means are giving up on him. But, he's the 4th coach in a row that was probably not ready for a job this big. Let's hope the 4th ti e is the charm.

We know what we have, and it’s a combination of talent issues and learning a new scheme on both sides of the ball. Recruiting rankings, evaluations, whatever you call it were either dead wrong on a few guys or they we truly ruined by the previous staff and are facing their last shot at redemption.

Pruitt said it in the fall camp to the secondary. “ if you’re going to get beat, you’re going to get beat playing my way”. Well flowers looks talented in run support but he got exploited playing man and wvu took advantage as they should have.

Pruitt, for better or worse, is playing his system and these guys will either learn or get beat until he can recruit someone to play it correctly.

Lack of pressure on the qb definitely didn’t help a young secondary .

The offense showed some great pieces but it will completely depend on the line settling in. I think Guarantano, the receivers, and especially the backs look dangerous enough to score some points. The first few snaps the line just flat out whiffed, and they’re lucky Guarantano wasn’t killed. Looked better as the game went on.

My uneducated guess is we will make a bowl/miss a bowl strictly based on the offensive line play.

WVU made us look like a D2 squad. I’m shocked so many are still believing we will somehow turn it around quickly. Maybe they watched a different game than me. Yesterday, I was stone cold sober, and I watched the whole game to get a gauge of the new regime/team. I saw a WVU team get a nice tune up game against a D2 type of squad. I’m sorry, it’s what it looked like to me. Imagine if we had played App St! This place would have imploded.
