Agree there. I thought DB's would be jamming them off the line. I mean you basically have to he is releasing so fast, you have to disrupt the timing. Jump the route. LB's were blitzing I guess, or trying to and getting blocked. DB were either playing way off or blitzing, so it game Grier time to hit slants just toss posts, or in routes.LBs were invisible. DBs played way off and still got beat. Teams still gashed us up the middle running because of LB and DL play. I actually expected better from the LBs. Knew DL has no debt and we are starting true freshmen DBa for a reason.
I can only guess that maybe the coaches didn't trust them to jam and still keep coverage.Agree there. I thought DB's would be jamming them off the line. I am hoping that it was just that they do not have confidence. Players tend to be much slower when they are trying to think too much. AJ Johnson used to look slow, and then Junior year the light came on for him and then he looked fast and was everywhere.I was surprised at how slow the DBs looked, and D in general, for that matter. I expected them to be out of position a few times, but I really expected them to fly to the ball a lot more.
