I don't think that's what he's saying at all. You can be disappointed or mad about a season and not blame the coaches or want them fired. I was pissed in 2005 but didn't want anyone fired.
I guess...I just hope the atmosphere doesn't turn poisonous for Pruitt if it goes rough this year. I think he is a good football coach, and brought other good football coaches with him. I think he can turn it around given time. I think the "but we got so much talent" thing is very suspect.

I hope it isn't suspect, and that whatever talent was buried and hidden by Botch rises up and shines brightly.

I don't think anyone will calling for his head this year.

Love this answer

“When you look at it, we have so many individuals who have never played a college game. The newness of the game of football for them will be an obstacle. They’ve never even spent a night away from their mother or wiped their own butt. They’re basically infants who have never given 6-3 effort. We hope they remember how to tie heir cleats...... one oh two fahr fifty five.”

I really hope you're right, but even a good coach can only do so much.

True, but that whole thing about players taking on the personality of their coach..

There's not a whole lot of room for doubt with Pruitt, considering his expertise, hardware, and unflappable demeanor. He's a first year HC, that's really the only knock.

Butch was questioned from the get-go. Last two stops riding Brian Kelly's coat-tails, thin-skinned, transferred a lot of pressure onto the players, being way too controlling.

No one's perfect, and Pruitt isn't an exception to that rule. So far though, he seems to have the intangibles that Butch didn't.

You are right, though. We can only hope that Butch's players can adopt Pruitt's mindset. I just think they will.

Eggzactly.

If we go 6-6 I will be disappointed. I will still be 100% in support of Pruitt.
I'll be disappointed with anything less than 6-6. Anything over that is gravy in my mind. Give me a football team that looks well coached, goes to a bowl game, and sign a top ten class and we're smooth sailing.

That is exactly what I am trying to say, and have been for months though, I believe the prigram will take on the personality of Pruitt, especially as more of his players are brought in...but I am thinking it is going to take a lot more than just a few months to wash the stench of Botch Jonz off of this roster.

Winning Saturday would go a loooooong way toward that, but losing could have the exact opposite effect on the roster.

I don't have a lot of faith in the gumption of some of the players we are really counting on to turn it around...I hope that concern is invalid.

I did not say that at any point in this post. You are a liar, and just want to pile on. I said I do not have a lot of faith in their gumption. I do have a lot more faith in them than I did at the end of last season. I have also said that. We will see what happens. I hope they have become tough, never say die, hard charging scrappers.

Ok, I apologize. This time u didn't call the Vols quitters but insinuated that it wouldn't take much to make 'em quit.

Sweet. My room is not nearly that nice and uncluttered. It's a big enough room, but the room also is my music room, and it's really cluttered in there because I've also got 2 drum kits set up in there, so it is tight fit right now, and I really only have a Vols end of the room rather than the entire room. But it is still a cozy corner.
I'll come over and nutsack (step brothers) one of your drum sets so you'll get rid of it and have more room for the orange. Problem solved?
