I am tired if hearing how this is a game we are going to lose or a toss up game. We will roll them. Lock of the week, load up on the Vols this week. OL much improved, D healthy and much improved. QB will manage the game. RB and WR ready to roll. We start off strong and go on to 8-4. Ball bounces right, we do better. Deadbolt out!
I didn’t say best defensive mind in college football, I said best defensive mind over the last decade. And based off of results, you’d be hard pressed to prove me otherwise. That is just a fact. If he hadn’t won any titles or been at 3 great programs and won national titles at two different stops then yes that would be my opinion, but he did win so those are the facts.
His defenses have led the nation in defensive efficiency 3 out of the last 5 years, with a ridiculous 97 grade in 2016. Not to mention they have led the nation in takeaways. “Decade” is a stretch but he has a ridiculous resume. Obviously I don’t expect a top 5 defense but our players will be put in the best position to succeed in this game. And we have the athletes to smother WV if things go as planned.
He also worked for the best defensive mind and best HC of all time Nick Saban. So, how do you know that it was HIS defensive mind and not just the fact that he worked for Nick?
i think everyone knows where SAban fits in on the whole "who's defense is it' stuff. No, NICK SABANS defenses did that.

i don't think it should be lost on anyone that Saban put Pruitt in that position....and that Pruitt was a DC for two other championship caliber programs.
i think that's the difference right now between he and Kirby. Pruitt did at least get out on his own for 3 years, prove he had the chops...then Saban picked him to come back and run HIS defense.
so, not for nothing, when the best coach in the country picks you, you probably don't suck.
gotcha.Yeah, I get that and I'm not knocking the guy. I'm just knocking the guy claiming he's some kind of defensive savant when we havent seen the guy do it at a program that needs turning around. He was at FSU for one year under a HC with an already established championship level program and oh yeah Jameis Winston as the QB and he worked under Mark Richt who again was leading a high caliber program long before Pruitt was DC.
Again, I'm not bashing Pruitt I'm just saying that when we hired Butch Jones all everyone assumed how he knew how to win and look at what he did as HC of those other programs and that turned out to be a false assumption.
