Saturday sneak peek

Grier must have just thrown his 4th INT of the 1st quarter.

Yeah, if UT is going to win, u have to figure Grier throws at least 2 picks. I'm thinking Nigel gets one INT and one of the freshman, Flowers, Alontae or my favorite, Bryce Thompson gets another. Hopefully, UT gets 3 or 4

everyday that goes by the stronger the butterflies get. Just don't know what to expect. We have been conditioned to such bad coaching, playing calling, DB's giving up 10 yrs before covering, OL who can't move opposing team's DL and a HC that couldn't manage a game if his life depended on it. I do believe we are going to see a completely different team this year but lack of depth in certain positions with that tough stretch of 5 on the schedule does concern me. Please CP re-condition me to what real smash mouth SEC looks like again at UT !!

Lol. I love that you spend so much time researching and getting all the numbers. I honestly dont see how you have time in a day to do it. Lol

I myself hate numbers..People get so wrapped up in them and forget that a sports are full of statistical anomalies. The numbers sometimes lie, or rarely tell the whole truth of a game or team.

The only numbers that really matters are on the scoreboard at the end of the game.

I was just posting stuff because Nick asked me to contribute things like this to his thread. Sorry to offend you. I'll lay off.

No one cares what you think. Take a lap.

We're going to win this game at the LOS. WVU, like the entire media universe, is projecting last year's weaknesses forward to this year. Mistake. This is a much more physical and determined team.
this. i'm sure we'll experience the typical first year stuff with a new staff. and that may cost us games. but i think thsoe two things make up for a large portion of those issues. how much? not sure. but i think it accounts for A LOT. at least enough i think to get this team to 7-5.

WVU isn't used to being hit like our guys are going to hit them and Grier's stats aren't as gaudy when guys are in his face all night. If the game is close-- and that's my guess-- UT's depth advantage will win down the stretch. Their thin, tired D-line against a more physical opponent with a power running game favors UT late in the game.

yeah, that's my hope, that late in the 3rd and in to the 4th qtr, we're in position to lean on that front 7, and just pound 'em. i want to protect our defense as much as possible.

it's boring, but i think if you can describe TN as 'efficent', we probably win the game. get off the field on those 3rd down situations that favor the defense, don't turn it over, limit penalties and get 1st downs. we do that, and scoring will take care of itself.

and if WVU wants to crumble under the weight of the hype machine that's been put on their shoulders, i'm ok with that too....:)
