I won't be shocked to see Smith go back inside. Our best case is Tatum and Richmond finally get it at tackle and Smith moves back in. Imo Smith was far less effective at tackle last year than inside
Highly, highly doubt our best 5 includes Tatum.

Would probably be better if JJ can come along well enough to play OT and trade spots with Trey.

Im no expert on OL play at all but I think he was fine out there. His best position is G but he’s also our best tackle by a long shot.

Cole Cubelic (best SEC OL guy on Twitter) has him rated as the best T in the SEC. I’ll defer to his expertise on this one.
On the 247 podcast Cubelic said he thinks trey smith is the best offensive lineman in the country. Said he’s the only player comparable to Quenton Nelson this year

Guys...my son, Sutton, started preschool today. Man....it hit me like a ton of bricks by how quickly your children grow up. Sutton will be 4 next April. Braelyn will be 2 next February. Also, we have a 3rd one on the way in February.

My parents always told me how fast my sister and I grew up in front of their eyes. I believe them now.

Don't blink...as the song goes! My wife and I were just talking about that this morning. Our sons are 8 and 11, and the oldest just started middle school.
I had a daughter at the young age of 17, she's now 22, married, working as a nurse and expecting her first in January! Time flies my man!!

I found it interesting that Simonton yesterday alluded to the possibility that Johnson would start at LG against WV because of their unique 3-3-5 defense and we planed to road grade thru them. He acted as if he woudnt be able to stay in the lineup once we get to the SEC type defense. Situational lineup which is certainly something you don't see every day it sounds
What real coaches do.

True. It's just weird to see an in-state guy everyone wanted early on fall to the point where folks are like 'do we have room?'
Yeah, I'm not one to worry about the whole in-state debate; I want the best football players, I don't care where they come from. If Pruitt and co believe that Patterson is the better LB over Pappoe or To'oto'o, then that's who I want, or vice versa. I just believe that's not the case. If Pappoe is #1 on their board, they are going to try and flip him all the way to signing day. I do believe that Patterson is 3rd on their board. This season could mean the difference in a 10-12 class, or a 5-7 class, nationally.

we may get a slight break on the weather, scattered showers, high of 88 as of last night. so it may not be a brutally hot day with a scorching sun all afternoon. will be hot, but should have some clouds to break things up a bit.

I live 20 min north of Charlotte. On days where we have scattered thunderstorms, it’s usually later in the afternoon, early evening.

330 kick off so if it does rain, I’d expect it late in the second half if at all.

More info on Doyle and our other specialists from Kohls Punter/Kicker rankings out of high school

Ranked #4 Punter in the country in 2017

Doyle recently attended the 2017 Senior Challenge in Atlanta, GA. He once again showed why he is one of the top punters in America by averaging 47+ yards with 4.4 seconds of hang time during the charting portion. He is D1 ready right now. His best event was the 2016 National Scholarship Camp where his charts landed him a spot in the Under Armour All-American Game.

Brooks was ranked #2 in 2018

Brooks recently attended the 2017 National Scholarship Camp. He repeatedly hit 50-60 yard blasts and he built upon his dominant performance at the Southern Showcase Camp in May. Brooks again was a dominant punter and performer. His long frame makes him an attractive prospect as a D1 punter. Brooks' FG's and KO's show flashes of big potential as well. His strength is in his punting. Brooks earned the 2nd spot to the Under Armour All-American Game by winning the punt off against the top players at this national event. He has all the tools to become a great college P/KO specialist!

It looks like we have pretty good competition at the punting position.

Cimaglia was the #6 ranked kicker in the class of 2017

Cimaglia is the consistent dependable kicker college coaches want. He has charted 10/10 on FG's at multiple Kohl's camps over the years. His KO's are consistently between 65-75 yards with around four seconds of hang-time. His ball jumps fast enough to "wow" college coaches but his best attribute is his consistency and ability to make kicks. He does punt but he will kick in college. Cimaglia has earned our trust over time and will be a point scorer in college!

Toser was in the 2015 class of kickers

Laszlo competed at multiple Kohl's events. drives the ball well on FG. has won a couple FG comeptitions, Has good natural talent on FG, seems to handle pressure well and be able to focus well, does not hit huge KO's but can play at a high level because of focusing ability

For reference this is what they said about Trevor Daniel in 2013 (ranked #18)

Trevor has a D1 leg without a doubt, his technique is raw and somewhat unrefined currently, if he goes to a program and develops mechanically he could be a big-time college punter, talented punter who will continue to get better.

Medley was the #1 kicker in the class of 2014

Aaron is a talented prospect, He has great physical ability. The ball jumps off his foot. His ability to hit a clean ball off the ground is ahead of his class, He generates solid tempo on his kicks, this spring he made a 65 yd with no wind, hit a 74 yard 4.3 hang on a KO in the Showcase KO competition, best combination of power and consistency in the nation, also a good punter, pure ball striker, should compete immediately in college, very trustworthy and dependable on FG's, won a spot to the UA game in July of 2013

Volatil that you?

I have seen him live and stats don’t lie. On passes that are 15 plus yards in the air, he hits on less than 20 percent. He would be horrible in a true pro style offense. He did great with Bama but wasn’t his arm. It was dump offs to their great backs who made the yardage and his running which is incredible. He would do well at Army, Navy, and Georgia Tech. But when he plays against great D’s, even Bama struggles because he is not a passing threat. Heck, it has been talked about forever. It’s not something I just cane up with. At the Bama and UT game I went to last year, everyone could see it and even Bama fans said the same thing and they see him game in and game out. He can’t pass downfield period. I don’t give two craps that he won an award. He played for the best team that year and he was the QB and he put up numbers but they were not from throwing it all over the place downfield. You have just taken a stance and you can’t ever move off of one once you do.

I pray that we have a QB who if the OL will give him time, can throw the ball downfield better than Hurts because if we don’t, we are in big trouble and for a long time.

First off, there’s no such thing as a “true pro style offense” anymore. Those things are what gets Jeff fisher and mike mularkey fired because they are have Jurassic concepts to them and no creativity. Just Bc you are under center or have a fullback doesn’t mean that you aren’t creative and doing things that are widely used in college.

The eagles were getting criticized for running a college offense but they were one of the most dynamic and effective in the nfl.

We’re running a far more qb friendly offense now than we ever did under butch. 80% of our throws are going to be 10 yards or less, as are almost every great offense in today’s football.

I understand the hand wringing over DL, but I gotta remind everyone that one of those guys will be subbed out for a 5th DB most of the year (>70%) especially this week.
