Definitely could do a whole lot worse, and I agree he's very dynamic; but, he can't make the throws at Bama, what makes us think he can make them here? And no matter what, in close games, a big-time throw has to be made a some point or another, and Hurts has yet to prove he can do it. Yes, none of us know if Shrout can make them in the SEC either, maybe he can, maybe he can't...but, I'll trust his arm over Hurts' arm any day.
Much like JG, the arm isn’t the concern with Shrout.Definitely could do a whole lot worse, and I agree he's very dynamic; but, he can't make the throws at Bama, what makes us think he can make them here? Double commenting here, but now that I think about it, didn’t Helton not offering Martinez at USC have something to do with it as well?
We usually just shank them but up to you.Question... How do y'all deal with Bammer sense of entitlement? I was out to dinner with work collegue, the aforementioned Bammer, and he was going on and on how Bama's 3rd string would go 8-4, the dynasty will continue even after Saban retires. He said only remembers the losses, and the we're two plays from having 3 in a row...ref Clemson two years ago. Also he said every HC in SEC would eventually be a Sabanite. But capped it off the he wished TN could be a rival again. Made me wanna throw up in mouth.

How bout we see what happens this season before "not banging the drum" for hurts.Im not trying to bang the drum for Hurts but I think you have to look at last year objectively too. He had an obvious downgrade at OC on top of having to learn a new offense which wasn't half as creative as the one he was in. Yes Tua looked amazing when he came in, but georgia literally had no plan or preparation for him. Being a lefty and a totally different qb was basically like facing a different team in the 2nd half.

Sid note to bammer bandwagon. We took our grandson to the splash pad and as we were leaving saw a couple with their hood up.
Asked if I could help and said he needed a jumpstart. As I was letting it charge up making small talk, I saw he was wearing a Alabama hat. Asked him if he was ready for football season. He stated yes, and went on to say the defense was going to be strong and he really liked their new defense coordinator “ Mus Willchamp” not joking, that’s what he said and even had the name backwards. I didn’t say anything because his wife was standing there.

62%, true; but, his last 4 big time games (Clemson NC game; Auburn; Clemson Semifinal game; UGA NC game) he hasn't been able to do it.Lets not act like he just cant throw at all. hes a career 62% passer. Is he going to wow you with his arm? no. But for a 2 year grad transfer... He is definitely worth taking a flyer on.
I haven't said a word about hurts. Only that I would prefer shrout. Yer acting like jg is already gone.
