We’ve had a “talent” advantage over those teams every year since the beginning of time.
That doesn’t mean we are the better football team. We aren’t “clearly better” than any of those teams you listed imo
With a competent coach, we are “clearly better” than Vandy and UK. How many games did Fulmer lose to them? Heck, we had like a 27 game streak on UK until Dooley.
History says that UT should beat Vandy and UK. Missouri is a little different because of a lack of history, but we still have more talent year in and year out. History also shows that you won’t be the head coach at UT very long if you can’t beat Vandy and UK.
Spurrier took over a team that went 7-5 the year before with 4 of those 5 losses coming in one score games.People love to bring up saban and kirby's first years. What about spurrier at Florida or gus at Auburn.
Spurrier took over a team that went 7-5 the year before with 4 of those 5 losses coming in one score games.
Gus took over a team full of offensive players he'd recruited as OC years earlier.
It's possible we could catch lightning in a bottle this year. Schedule is gonna make it difficult to happen though.

Schedule next year works out nicely if Pruitt is the guy.
9 win season staring us in the face.
Agreed. We should start off 3-0 and all of those games should give the DL (which will likely be somewhat green) a chance to get work out some kinks before we start conference play. MSU shouldn't be too bad of a draw for us as far as SECW matchups go. Bama and UF are road games, but UK and Mizzou on the road shouldn't be too difficult. Everything else is a home game.
5 or less wins CJP underperformed.
6 wins is a push
7 or more wins CJP will have done a good job.
It never is that simple but it's a good baseline for judging his year 1 job performance
Plus we’ll be bringing back loads of experience everywhere except the DL. Bowl game/win in year 1 and 9 wins in year 2 would be quite the start for the Pruitt era.
Yep. I’m much more bullish on year 2. Year 3 is the prove it year for Pruitt. We should be competing for the division title by then. Dooley and Butch both assembled pretty good teams by year 3, so Pruitt should be able to as well.
I think Pruitt gets it done long term. Just don’t think it happens this year (though I’d be excited to be wrong!!)
Ok, guys. I have to make a quick run to Charleston, SC today, leaving in about an hour. I am staying just north of Charleston in Summerville. I have a meeting first thing in the morning and will be on the road back home by about 10:00AM. While the trip is short, I'd like to sneak in a good seafood meal tonight. Nothing fancy but good. Preferably not a chain. Obviously, not terribly far from Summerville. Any suggestions?
