Good luck to him. But only ones I am concerned about are are the ones we got. Isn't Shrout just as big and was reported to have the strongest arm out of all our QBs. With the most NFL potential per some analysts at some camps or the opening. And now we got Maurer and he is looking real good too.

You’re way too smart for me dude

Here's another thing I think we might want to be mindful of. This time last year the 2017 team garnered a presason ranking of #25 from the AP poll and #24 in the coaches poll. The fastest market move is a violent recovery of the plunge move off of a cliff. Our coach last year pretty much entered the season already on the hot seat. As he imploded so did the team's performance. Even the math models thought we should have been a good team last year. S&P+ had us at #25; ESPN FPI had us at #20. Many of us pretty much think we've fixed our problem with coaching so we're expecting our team to recover and get back on track, at least to where we were preseason last year. jmo.

Isn’t it basically impossible to project this given that we’ve got new schemes on both sides of the ball that we’ve never really seen any of our guys play in? We don’t know how healthy we’ll stay or who’s gonna start at some key spots still.

Also, I don’t think we’re gonna see better STs than we did in 2015 for quite a while. Medley’s FG struggles aside, our coverage and return units were great that year and Daniel was as good of a punter as anyone in the country had. We won the hidden yardage and field position battle in basically every game we played that year. And punting is a big question mark for us this year.

I understand your fundamental approach to analysis. I was just offerring a technical approach. Kiffin took an offence ranked #106 up to #31 in his only year here and Jancek took a #82 ranked defense up to #35 his first year. I'm reasonalbly confident we have better defensive talent and coaching that what Jancek had to work with. You mention injuries and according to Phil Steele we had the most lost starts last year due to injuries of all 130 FBS teams. Mathematical analysis tends to anticipate a regression to the mean. We'll see about special teams; Pruitt said last week our kickers were kicking good.

Ya have to think this coulda been handled differently.

And I think back on the time vs. GA, when Hurd let up short of the goal line and got the ball stripped; you know he felt like crap right then, and didn't need CBJ yellin right in his face. What if he had just put his arm around him instead and said I know you can do better; go make it happen.
I’m sure Saban’s teaching him that approach.

Ok, guys. I have to make a quick run to Charleston, SC today, leaving in about an hour. I am staying just north of Charleston in Summerville. I have a meeting first thing in the morning and will be on the road back home by about 10:00AM. While the trip is short, I'd like to sneak in a good seafood meal tonight. Nothing fancy but good. Preferably not a chain. Obviously, not terribly far from Summerville. Any suggestions?

I live in Summerville. Shuck N Shack or Low Country Fish Camp in you want Seafood in Summerville. The best seafood in the area, is Acme Low Country Kitchen down in Isle of Palms, IMO.

I’ve only been here 6-7 months, maybe a native will chime in too.

Correct developing Shrout is the future at this point. Then hopefully Maurer after that.

I really liked Hyman’s in downtown Charleston.

Good flounder, shrimp and grits and insane hush puppies.

It's been discussed. UT is going back to the black outline next year. They decided on the change too late this year to have it implemented.
That’s not the entire story. According to Mr. Fields, we are removing the checkboard on the pants and going to a solid stripe. He added yesterday that there will be another change in the uniforms that shows up this year.

He is starting due to necessity more than talent id say.
Yeah he didn't exactly have to beat anyone out there. I think Scott frost will do good things with him, but they didn't really have much for him to beat out.

Hymans is a little too touristy for my taste. Roadside seafood on folly road is very good
Too bad Bowens island is closed on Sunday.
