I'm not so sure a squib would keep anyone pinned in the 25. First you have to hope it even gets through the up backs, and even if it does the zero hang time doesn't give the coverage team time to get down the field. It's just as likely an upback grabs it at the 40
This. I can't think of very many squib kicks getting pinned even inside the 30.

I've never said the first thing about WV; I don't care what they have or don't have; what they did or didn't do last year. Unlike some who love to gush and gush about other teams and coaches other than the one they claim to be a fan of, I look at it like this, if UT does what they are suppose to do, they win. They have the better players, the better coaches, the better program, period
That's all your opinion. We think we have the better players, coaches and program, but we don't know. WVU is and should be favored.

I enjoy Doug Matthew’s show but I distinctly remember last summer (2017) he stated emphatically on his show multiple times that the 2017 recruiting class was Butch Jones’ best despite the final ranking.

Very telling that Pruitt seems to be skipping over it in a lot of key spots.

Scheme hurts the defensive side of that class along with this staff will recruit at a completely different level on that side of the ball. Bad scheme fit for butler, Bennet, Reid, Page. Labruzza tore ACL last yr giving him 2 straight yrs with one. Jackson has potential but crowded there this yr.

trey, chandler, Palmer, jordan, Calbert, Locklear could prove to be really nice pieces. No clue what Bunphus problem is. I'd move him to DE

We all know WV is and, probably, maybe(?), should be favored...if we don't, we can always ask you, and you'll be glad to tell us.
I'll explain it like this, and yes, this is my opinion; but, I believe, maybe I'm wrong, most would agree with me...
Defense:
Jonathan Kongbo, Darrell Taylor, Kyle Phillips, Shy Tuttle, Quart'e Sapp, Daniel Bituli, Darren Kirkland Jr, Todd Kelly Jr, Nigel Warrior, Alontae Taylor, and Bryce Thompson are ALL better than anyone or anything WV has. Half of those guys would have already been in the NFL by now if they had chosen to play for anyone other than Butch Jones; no way you're going to ever convince me that Jonathan Kongbo isnt an All American if he's at Bama or UGA or Clemson, Phillips too, Bituli too, Warrior, too, and I could go on. Whether they do it or not, I believe they will, that talent I just mentioned is not only good enough to beat WV, but shut them down. The ONLY reason some doesn't see that, doesn't know that, is all because of 2 things, Butch Jones and HIS 4-8, 0-8...the ONLY reason.
Offense:
Trey Smith is the best OLman in the country. Nothing else to be said.
We have 3 to 5 more across our OL that were considered high 4 to 5 star coming out. Again, you'll NEVER convince me that they ALL are busts, it's actually laughable for someone to even consider that. We had a freaking GRADUATE ASSISTANT coaching our OL last year, wake up, dude!
Ty Chandler could have went anywhere he wanted to go, period
Madre London has played in a great rushing attack, and Jeremy Banks was wanted by Scott Frost, all I need to know.
Jauan Jennings is a 6'3, 220 pound dog, that could play 3 or 4 other positions, and is the best football player on the field whenever he is on it. Again, the only reason some do not see it, know it, is because the kid chose to play for Butch Jones.
And JG...idk what the kid is or isn't...I do know that he has a MUCH BETTER QB coach and OC now, and was wanted by your hero, Urban Meyer.
Butch did recruit All Americans and All SEC players, he just didn't know how to coach them in the SEC; in fact, besides the academics, that is ALL he did, EVERYTHING ELSE suffered. And again, 4-8, 0-8 is all anyone thinks of...it is why people are sleeping on the talent we really, truly have. And last, Jeremy Pruitt...idk if I was THIS confident in Phil, if I'm just being honest.

Yeah like you said, that's all an opinion. We have good players on this team, no doubt about that. A lot of those players you mentioned have shown next to nothing in their time here. To say that some of them would have been All-Americans else where and half of them would have already been in the NFL is laughable. We don't know. What we do know is some of them haven't done squat here. I like Jennings, but to say he's the best player on the field is a joke as well. To say you're more confident in Pruitt before he's coached his first game than Phil is also laughable.

My god. Give me a beer bong full of that glorious orange kool-aid

BVS is still infecting on here. I'll try a comparison to help.

As a HS senior 247 ranked Zach Fulton a 3*, the #712 player, #32 OG, with a .8639 rating. Most posters on here would be grumbling about him becoming a Vol today. The old "we cannot compete with Bama, etc. with guys like that", or, "who?", or, "3* U", etc. would be going on. After receiving mediocre P-5 coaching at UT and starting most of his time on The Hill, he was drafted in the 6th round by KCC, started 46 games in 4 seasons at G and C, was signed by the Texans this off season to start at G and back-up C, and will make over $7 million per year on his multiyear contract. He took a very mediocre college development experience and outworked his peers when he got the opportunity at both UT and in the NFL. It paid off big time. Fast forward to UT today.

Our roster is getting elite development from highly competent coaches with a proven system and schemes. If individual players approach their roles and work like Zach did, the sky is the limit for the team as well as the players' futures. It has nothing to do with what happened to the roster under Lyle. Those players still there in their minds will not play or will leave. Hopefully they all have moved on to the brighter future for those that work hard and do their jobs. Fulmer and Pruitt are not wannabes. Each has excelled at his job in the past. They know what it takes. They know what needs to happen to win. Hopefully we end up with a two deep that has figured it out and will do their jobs as the coaches desire. Eventually the lesser guys will be recruited over with top talent.

You can laugh all you want...fools are often depicted that way, laughing.
Why don't you and I make a little wager then...you take WV, and i take UT, straight up? We all know how much you like WV, and them being favored, you've brought it up enough times. So...like them.
I can tell you what I do know, Chief...majority of us either think you're an arrogant, dirty troll, or you're the absolute worst Big Orange fan in the history of Big Orange fans...and like I've said before, and you had no comment for, no Big Orange fan I know would ever talk about Joe Namath over Peyton Manning, when discussing our next great QB.
Let me know about the wager...

OSU trying to squash that media backlash

Every time they try to "fix" something that they have already messed up this badly, it only makes them look worse. I doubt the apology had any kind of empathy or credibility. He is just doing what he is told he absolutely has to while the admin closes their eyes tightly and hopes it all goes away.
