if Oregon can get back to what they've shown to be capable of, you could definitely see the Pac 12 being 6 deep in 3ish years. Stanford will be solid as long as Shaw is there. same with UW with Peterson. the afformentioned South teams, yeah, that conf could be worth watching again soon.

Kevin Sumlin at AZ is probably gonna be a real nice fit. He's a good recruiter and coach, just tough to compete in the SEC. Chip Kelly is probably gonna make UCLA better too. USC may have a drop off but they'll still be good. Overall I think the Pac12 will be down this year at the top but in the middle I could see it being pretty good. Also, I think Herm was an awful hire and will not win very many games.
Saw an ESPN video on Herm the other day. It’s apparent that his former agent now boss bought his NFL Rookie Symposium speech that he reissues at every practice and position group film study, as gospel. Dude generates his own caffeine and never comes off of it. They’re going to need to send him off on a scavenger hunt during games so his coordinators can call the game.

over time, i agree. like i said, not sure how long that window will be open for Az St to move up in the division. i agree about sumlin and kelly at USCe. i look for that division over the next 3 years to be down to USC, UCLA and AZ.
I don't think Herm makes a bowl this year. They have a pretty tough schedule for them. I don't see them beating Mich St, WA, Stanford, USC, Utah, UCLA, AZ or Oregon. I'm not even confident they'd beat San Diego St.

Hahahahaha

We finally have a head coach who has a quality that we have not had in our head coach in a very long time… Extreme confidence that borders on the line of cockiness. I like it! His team will follow his lead and play in a similar fashion.
ok so this is one of those warm fuzzy intangible things that i generally don't like to talk about, especially with a total lack of evidence that it matters (we haven't played a single game yet).

that said, i do see this as being something that can count for something going forward, especially if this team, this program, starts to get a reason to really feel confident about itself, and beleive it should be confident/cocky. i do think Pruitt brings that "swagger" with him. but that only starts to matter if he gets some results to back it up. Spurrier's cockiness wouldn't have amounted to a hill of beans had he not given his players and fans a reason to believe in it. trust the players, give htem the opportunity, and see what happens.

i think back to that 96 FL game for one, 4th and 11 mid field in the 1st quarter and he's in Neyland that just set the record for largest on campus crowd ever to see a football game. i was there, the stadium was going nuts, we were very confident that day.

that play. he had the balls to call it, and his players made the play. they could do virtually no wrong the rest of the day, and immediately took the wind out of the sails for us.

imagine had that play gone the other way? and they lose that game. would have been one of the worst coaching decisions of the season. and FL would have had no shot at the sec or national title that season. then we got the can't spell citrius w/out ut stuff....and everyone ate it up.

not saying pruitt would go that far with comments. but i do think there's some lessons to be learned from a confidence and trust in your players standpoint.

Butch was insecure and felt like he didn't belong.

Pruitt is sitting there thinking "It's about damn time I got a head coaching job in the SEC"

You must have to be Thunder Thornton or Peyton Manning for CJP to be swapping cocky talk with you. Because generally he's a man of few words and fewer boasts. And he spends as little time chatting with donors as possible. The man wants to coach football, not talk about it with the media or money people.

Butch liked being the star of the show on the big stage, but wasn't ready for Power 5.. Pruitt likes to coach, has winning experience as coordinator in power 5 and would rather not deal with all that outside junk (Similar to Saban) It's definitely different.

Bowl Game = Butch Goal

Time to move on and aim higher.
no one disagrees. i think this is a one off goal for year one, given all the "stuff" that comes with a new coach, new personnel etc....especially considering how last year went, and how it ended.

past that, certainly, everyone expects more, and should.

my wife who likes coffee asked me to pick up breakfast too.
Let me give you an assist:

Step 1. Go to Starbucks Drive thru (or Dunkin’).
Step 2. Purchase coffee ONLY.
Step 3. Drive away.
Step 4. Go to Bojangles/Chik Fil A/Hardee’s drive thru.
Step 5. Purchase breakfast.
Step 6. WIN your day!

FYI. Update from POA’s gofundme.

“Found out today that her boyfriend was arrested for VOP as well as possession of paraphernalia and admitting to smoking meth. Hopefully this keeps him out of the picture for a while. Now just have to finish the custody case”
Not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed that we raised less than $1500 for POA.
