The JJ issue is NCAA eligibility. UT doesn't require all 16 core courses like the NCAA does and UT uses a different methodology to calculate core GPA. He meets UT's admission standards. Once the NCAA qualifies him, he has to enroll in the minimum number of courses to play and that will be handled quickly. Student athletes always have to schedule classes around practice and travel, so cooperation between academics and athletics is routine.

Boy am I glad I didn't hit post the past few weeks. I had a number of post written somewhat defending CUM because there are always two sides to the story.

Well now that we see the findings of the investigation it's clear this is a terrible decision by OSU. Just unreal that he is their coach this morning.

Urbie is a Teflon Coach. Same for Saban. Those are two coaches and two programs that are going to shake things off and go on like nothing happened. I think the fallout will be minimal, even in recruiting. By the time OSU plays Penn St, it'll barely be a footnote.

Your comment reminded me of a fishing and camping trip our church group went on some 50-plus years ago now. It was fathers and sons. We were barely in middle school and much less informed about the ways of the world than kids the same age today. The fathers sent us boys on a snipe hunt. JJ is the new snipe.

Warriors suck!...j/k SPHS c/o '95

Now that’s a high school football rivalry. From what I’m told, that is THE rivalry in the state of TN, and SP is a tiny 1A school that has pretty much dominated 1A football in TN.

Had conversations over the years with EM and EW. Both great players from MCHS and SPHS, and VFLs.

It is really weird to me that the #metoo mob isn't grabbing pitchforks and torches.

This.

Also, Big 10 fans & supporters can never, ever, ever, ever criticize or pass judgement on any other conference or program. Ever.

Penn State, the abuse of the gymnasts at Michigan State, the crap at Maryland and now the s@&*storm at OSU. Smh...

walked outside this morning.....it's nice and, dare i say, borderline "chilly"......football must be around the corner..............................
Must be nice. Was watching the local weather yesterday and the anchor asked the weatherman if there was any relief from the heat coming and he laughed and said there's a 99 in the 10 day forecast. And I'm actually kinda excited about double digits. hahahaha. Is it bad that 99 degrees somehow doesn't sound too hot for me right now? Am I in hell? Purgatory? I think I'm gonna go play golf that day so I can get out and enjoy the cold front.

Well we already know how much you love CUM, Bruin.

yeah, that sucks.

and don't worry, i'm not gonna get used to this. i'm sure it's a blip on the radar. just the uinverse's friendly reminder that football is almost here. just looked at the 10 day, and we're not done with the 90's...not by a long shot.

the next couple days though and the weekend.......yeah, i won't even tell you.....just not fair..... lol....

It sounds like even if he doesn't qualify to play, he will still qualify for the academic redshirt and will still be able to enroll and practice with the team this fall then. Does that sound right to you?

Will Cain made a good point on his show about this yesterday. Mike Macintyre basically did the exact same thing as Urban and he got away with it too. You don’t exactly have to be a huge winner.

He has to be close and it shouldn't be taking this long. But Pruitt has no reason to BS on this. They think he's going to be here. But ultimately, it's up to Peterson to get the grade. All UT can do is enroll him quickly once he's eligible-- in any capacity.

You can get a group of college kids to protest some of the strangest things. How are they not all over this one?

Honest question, and I’m not sure what the answer is, but what if this happened at UT? A lot of us went into defense mode when UT got popped with that Title IX lawsuit.

Different situations, but probably similar psychological responses.

I’m betting that really want him for kickoff/punt coverage at the very least.
