Sure, but from what I remember of my college days, if you didn’t have your class list locked in weeks in advance you were screwed. And I was undeclared forever until I dropped out. Lol. I would guess it’s even more strict for football players who have to follow the NCAA/SEC requirements. Idk.

Either he has been admitted, scheduled his classes and will show up tomorrow or I have to believe he’s not going to make it in.
Imo if he hasn’t already scheduled his classes they will fit him into whatever classes he needs

Edit* aaand Swansoned again by a couple of people

When I was there, I am pretty sure the athletes got help scheduling their classes and spots were made in classes they needed.

I don’t think a high level D1 football player is going to be denied core classes that he needs to be in. This makes me wonder about your info and knowledge.
I’m not in academics. Lol.

The basic thing I’m pondering - which I think you’re alluding to - is whether or not he already has a spot in those classes. Which would mean he’s been admitted. Which would mean he has the prerequisites.

It’s just an interesting set of circumstances.

Also, from what I remember, UT can admit anyone they want. I would guess this math class he’s still waiting on makes him ineligible to play football but not ineligible as a student - he could just take that math class while in Knoxville.

As long as it’s not a Fire Marshall issue, they can get him added to classes that are full.

I TA’d big intro classes at UT back in the day.

Interesting stuff.

Obviously they can pull strings to do whatever they want.

I just have a lot of questions about why it took so long in the first place. Hopefully Hubbs and Co. will be willing to speak after he’s on campus.

Urban Meyer suspended for first three games.

People get so defensive about spelling callouts around here. I don't think he's mad at hank or unappreciative. Just giving him some ish about it. Why don't you ignore him if you can't handle it. I'm sure hank wasn't as offended about it as you seem to be.

My bad, I guess I just took it wrong. All good.

You don’t have to be in academics to understand it. He doesn’t have to be admitted yet, but once he gets admitted, schools find ways to get them in the appropriate classes. Just because classes are “full” for regular students doesn’t mean they turn away a D1 athlete, especially if it’s a core class. They find ways to get them in the classes that they need. These kind of athletes get preference.

What’s your feeling on Kirkland? I’ve heard they don’t expect him to play vs. West Virginia. Whatever injury he’s dealing with is lingering.

I think he’s in the same boat as hall. I think he COULD play some rotationaly early on but i think they would rather wait and feel more comfortable playing later
