What is the average lifespan in West Virginia? 46?
I don't have a sister, but if I did take a look at my photo and you would have the answer. She would be considered butt ugly by the majority but far too pretty for you I bet.Is your sister good looking?
Pat White, Steve Slaton, Noel Devine (and Owen Schmitt) > Will Grier, Kennedy McKoy and whoever your tight end is. Sills is very talented I will give you that. But I just don't see this 2018 squad having more talent than 2007 for example. I am also a WVU graduate in addition to UT so I follow the program closely too,I think this is a bad matchup for Tennessee. WVU is full of talented veterans. Tennessee is playing new schemes on both sides of the ball. A QB in the second year running Dana's offense usually sees a huge uptick on production.
I really think this is the most talent WVU has had in the history of the program.
I would be more concerned if this were game #5 than game #1 because WVU will never have the depth of an SEC team.
Given what WVU has on offense, given that the defense is finally healthy and for the first time in the history of the program has 8 DL who can play... I see WVU winning by more than 10.
WVU has a habit of getting up big and going to sleep. That's both natural but it shows the drop off in talent between WVU's first and second teams.
Much higher.. clean air and hard work are good for the body. If you like hunting, white water rafting, fishing, mountain biking, climbing or any outdoor activity then you might want to visit WV. There's 5,000 miles of atv trails if you into that sort of thing. There's more miles than that of great single track.

That's interesting and what I figured. West Virginia does kind of seem like a team without a conference. If you went into the ACC though, it seems like you'd still have a recruiting problem. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you would target Pennsylvania and Ohio kids given the proximity and amount of talent there. That's Big Ten country, and the only other conference those recruits would probably consider is the SEC.WVU's fans are funny. If you remember in 2006-2007 WVU was a win away from playing in the national championship game. WVU was a 35 point favorite over Pitt and lost 13-9. Our kicker, who want on to have a long NFL career, missed two easy FGs and Rich Rod refused to throw against a cover 0.
So WV's fans expect the worst to happen. Going into the season most are optimistic but certain something bad will happen that will break our hearts.
We expect the worst.
So we hope WVU wins the Big 12, but we know something odd will happen that prevents it.
As far as the Big 12 goes... The Big 12 has been very good to us in terms of money. It's hurt WVU in recruiting and our fans get far more excited to play the Vols or NC St than they do Texas or Oklahoma. We're just too far away.
The hope is that one the next round of realignment hits WVU will get an invite to the ACC or SEC. WVU has been the SEC's second choice three times.
Personally I don't think WVU has the resources to compete in the SEC. Sure WVU is a SEC team by culture, but the ACC is where WVU would have the most success.
I love the Big 12. It's full of great people. Nice people. That's part of the problem there's nobody to hate.
This year? I would say 16 on the 1st team depth chart - maybe more. How many SEC caliber players does WVU have? More than 10?
What's your score prediction?
Pat White was a great QB but not the best passer. That 2006-2007 WVU team had three superstars.. but this team is loaded. Sills isn't the best WR on the team... both TJ Simmons and Marcus Simms are better. Javoni Haskins transfered to WV from Miami. He's supposedly cut from the same cloth as former TTU TE Jace Amaro.
McKoy isn't nearly as good as Slaton. But Leddie Brown may be.
WVU's 2018 offensive depth chart has 10 kids who will likely play on Sundays... Grier, McKoy, Sills, Jennings, Simmons, Simms, Haskins, Cadjuste, McKivitz, and Hardy. On defense they have about 6 who will be in the NFL: Dante Stills, Robinson, Bigelow, Long, Askew-Henry and Kenny Robinson.
I don't recall WVU ever having that much NFL talent on the roster at the same time.
Are the coaches and those close to the program as confident as the fans up here?
I've heard all about the DL transfers, but what makes them the saviors of the D. I've been told the D was so putrid last year bc of lack of gap assignment and those that transferred out were the problem. The transfers in are coming from a 4-3, and did not contribute a whole helluva lot wheee they were, not to mention the knee issues the USC grad has.
We have some stud receivers as well, not as experienced as yours, but some big, fast WRs, how do you see the wvu secondary holding up?
Also, Oline is huge, no debating that. I believe most of them are from instate. How do you think they'll stack up to the speed we will bring with our d line and pass rushers?
Thanks for the candid answers too!
I live up here, but grew up in E TN. It's nice to see some rational retort from a wvu fan!
